The last few years, we have driven or cycled to Carrefour in Mulsanne (AVENUE DE BONEN LES ROCHERES 72230 MULSANNE) where we get our booze and some of the food for the weekend. There is also a good bakers. As much as we are 'appy with our purchases, does anyone know if there are any other shops close by who do meat and fish as we would like to try somewhere different for a change. We don't want to stop en-route to LMS as we like to buy it on the Friday. ta.

The last time I went we shopped at the Super U at Arnage. Fairly easy to get to and not far from Bleu Sud campsite if you drive.

This.

And the Ed (or whatever it's called these days) is quite small in Arnage, but has good meat counter. There's a good little family bakery down the from that as well, on the corner, which do some amazing pastries for breakfast.

There's a fabulous boulangerie in Ruaudin which is very popular, especially on a Sunday morning

+1 I live two miles away and their "Guerande" baguettes are very tasty and most importantly don't turn to concrete overnight. Their cakes and pastries are top notch too. 100 yds away is one of the best butchers around if you want good steak or any meat come to that. If I was shopping for fish (Le Mans has not one fish shop any more) it has to be the supermarkets, Carrefour being the biggest by far and thus the best selection.
