Not been to Le Mans since 2007 when we used to just turn up and find a site and a large plot. I have been told that the plots are all marked out and only measure around 7m by 5m. Does anyone know where will be told to camp by turning up on the day and how much space I will be given. Motorhome is 10m long and needed at least 5m width and rough cost.

Unless the motorhome sites are different, you can't buy a camping ticket on the gate, only in advance.

Ring Stingray RV as they have loads of their rental fleet down there on a special site amongst what looks like a hundred or so others. It's by the Roundabout you get to if you drive south from the main entrance and joins to Arnage.

There's a large RV parking area on the Bugatti Circuit where some of the teams base their RV's as well as private ones, in between Houx and the holding area for the support race cars. No idea of how you get access, but there are some options out there........don't think I'd risk winging it without a ticket though

PZ54 is on the above map and EXPO is the other large motorhome area. You'll need to search for a ticket for one of them before you go.

P.S. Both of these are hard standing as I'm guessing your weight might be an issue on grass

The ACO for the last two years have allocated space to Motorhomes adjacent to the Porsche Curves interior viewing bank, my understanding is that this will be the same this year.

Only Beusejour tickets needed but get there early before all the spaces are taken, they do restrict you to one space so you may need two spaces.

Thanks for the replies.

When ever we took the RV before they would just park us up in the fields with all the others with tents. I take it that's not the case anymore by what your saying.

We have had our uses as we normally end up being asked to charge batteries.
Weight isn't an issue as long as it's reasonably dry.

Hi

I've taken an RV for the last 3 years and camped at private sites plus PZ54 at the Porsche curves. That site was sold out in December, so this year I've got pitches (9m long RV) at Expo MH which is for RVs only. These are the only 2 dedicated RV camps for the public. The one that's been mentioned on the infield by the Esses is not available to us ordinary spectators.

Also, there is no restriction on what you use to camp in on the other campsites, you'll still see a great mix of tents, caravans and motorhomes.

I'd suggest giving Nadine Bouttier a call at the Le Mans tourist office (google is your friend for the number). she may be able to get hold of the passes you need or the usual agencies. Speed Chills helped me out this year and were very good.

I hope that helps.

We have a Winnebago that we take, buy a couple of camping permits in maison Blanche

There is about 20 in our group so we buy a space for each car then bunch em up to make a more communal space
