I have just noticed on the Hotel de France web site that on Friday 12th June the Hotel in La Chartre sur le Loir will hold a Concours event for both pre and post war cars. The event is open to UK cars and will take place in the town which is famous for its connection with the Le Mans race.

I phoned yesterday and got a table........joke

We are driving down to HDF on the Friday, never been before, couple of questions.
Where's the best place to park?
Is there other places in the square to get something to eat and drink?
Thanks

With the concours event the square will be full, but there is a public car park behind HDF.

If you see a storm titanium Evora with a ph sticker under the rear number plate, come and say hi.

La Chartre is a relatively small town and the central square is quite compact and will get full very early. But there is ample parking within a very short walk. I recommend you take the "Route de Man's" D304 from Le Mans This is the road mechanics and Race drivers would use to drive the Race cars to/from the circuit. The last time being the Porsche 917's. When you arrive in La Chartre use the car park near to the School and walk no more than 100m to the square.

Three other Bars in the square other than the Hotel de France. You must look at the History wall in the Hotel bar. Shops to grab a sandwich, La Bamboo Burger Bar and other bars cafes along the pedestrian road just off the square. Please plan ahead as the shops do tend to close for lunch.

The photo shows the Hotel & Square centre and the aforementioned car park is in the front of the multi level buildings towards the top of the image.

For a map of the Route de Man's look at the CBW-Hotel de France topic in this section.

Thanks for that. Hopefully the Evora we'll be travelling down in is back on the road today, Lotus have only had it since Febuary (burnt orange godly colour one?) 2 Elise's and a TVR.
See you there
