Le Mans Electrics

Quite agree JT3K, I was just saying that the mention of sugar in a genny tank is a bit extreme. I have no problem with people screening films, etc. And the turning off after midnight is bothering nobody. But nobody wants the the noisy chavs that haven't a clue about endurance racing and just see it as a free for all to make as much noise as possible and stay as drunk as possible all week(end).

You probably don't realise it, and I fully sympathise and agree to a point, you do come across as a bit of a grumpy old man. You are right, nobody wants banging Euro rock 24/7 but we all have to get along and a generator is hardly the noisiest thing you are going to have to deal with over the weekend is it?

Bit "grumpy" sir,moi sir?.
A more happier, sky larking pensioner you will never wish to meet.
I do actually own a reasonable sound system myself and have been known to play a pretty broad selection of tunes, including Ibiza,d&b,garage, punk, traditional rock classics................. and the odd bit of Euro rock too.
My post was more about advice over the availability of on site electricity and the safety aspects which seem to have gone unnoticed.Including just a little advice over generator use.
Your username of Tyre Smoke brings back fond memories from a few years ago.As quoted in EVO at the time " a car club representative parted the crowd like Moses"and instigated possibly the longest burnout in a Le Mans parades de pilotes ever seen.
Bit younger then, but certainly not "grumpy" sir.
How very dare you!!
I will listen out for the generator and maybe spot a PH flag or t shirt and bring a beer or two along to share.
xx

Cheers for the photos. My memory isn't as bad as i thought. Although i did send an email round to our group earlier that the ferry leaves at 7am when actually is 9. Lol.
Looks like they've been upgraded as there weren't that many 16a sockets last year. About 2 each side of the box iirc.
Agree about the cabling quality. For any one interested... Leroy Merlin just off one of the round abouts on Mulsanne (think B&Q) sells 50m of 3 core cable for about 50 euros & 3 way splitters for 9.99. But check in uk first, screwfix might be cheaper
If you've got time before you go, for about £40 you can get a 25m camping extension with the blue plug one end and a 3x 13a socket the other with an mcb / elcb.

Fit mine somewhere local but can't remeber if it was halfords or outdoor world or whatever.
