Hi all

this will be our 2nd time to Le Mans and we are going Wednesday - Monday so have plenty of time to see and do most things we want to but we are trying to decide what to do on Friday, last year we biked to Arnage and had a few beers and car watched which we enjoyed so we are looking at doing the same but considering doing a full lap of the track and stopping off for a drink/food at anywhere worth stopping at has anyone done this and if so is it worth doing?

Other option we are thinking is Arnage for lunch and into Le Mans itself for food and drinks for the evening

Which would you rather do or anyone have any other ideas? we are staying at TC Airtrack which looks fairly close to the tram stop to get into Le Mans

Cheers all smile

So many options available to you, the Classic British Welcome at St Saturnin is increasingly popular year on year but well worth the drive and you can avoid the traffic by getting in early (try to arrive by 1030) Then head back to base camp for a late lunch before catching the tram to the city centre for the drivers parade, dinner and beers.

hotel de france in La Chartre, as covered in some other threads, is well worth doing on Friday

always plenty of interesting cars and the owners are very approachable and happy to let you have a good nosy

We'll be there in v12 vantage roadster, DB9, 458 Speciale, Carrera GT, Huracan, R8, 918 (assuming it arrives in time - it's touch and go - if not he's deciding between his 8C, F40, CGT, Biposto or Dino !) and one or two other toys

I wish that were true but I doubt they'd want the great unwashed driving on the track (public roads aside).

If you can drive, that would be fantastic but too much scope for d*ckheads.

Only the public road section, and only until the cops shut various sections off to discourage bad behaviour.

Last year we biked by the go kart track and noticed there was a gap to get onto the race track, the marshalls didn't bat an eye lid when we crept on and started talking to them and said we were fine, we biked maybe half a mile away from the start/finish line before turning right passed some sound barriers at a guess and ending up in arnage after a few miles on normal road so not sure how much longer we could of stayed on the track though

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys this year will be much better planned for us smile

Some of the lads in our group got as far as Porsche curves with four cars on Friday. The Gendarme that stopped them even parked his Citroen in formation for a photo
