But there were no Pies...........missed opportunity........
let us design the bar next year please ..........www.grapesdesign.com
It wasn't a missed opportunity, it was an opportunity that was taken away from us a few weeks before the event by the organisers. We'd planned for an array of pies, full English breakfasts and even a Sunday roast... But in the end we were only allowed to sell crisps, and even that was a battle!let us design the bar next year please ..........www.grapesdesign.com
As for designing it, we were on a shoestring budget and did everything ourselves - I literally built all the facade of the pub in my front garden, my wife made the hanging baskets and window boxes and the team and I packed it up, shipped it out and built it on site.
I hope this gives you an idea of what we went through to make it happen, and perhaps means you can forgive us for some of the foibles!

In that case, it was an excellent job!As for designing it, we were on a shoestring budget and did everything ourselves - I literally built all the facade of the pub in my front garden, my wife made the hanging baskets and window boxes and the team and I packed it up, shipped it out and built it on site.

Good effort, we sampled a couple of beers each on Friday night, sat watching the Audi parade going round the block several times. Noted the only one in the VIP area was a Jack Russell terrier, should we know him/her from somewhere? Was a lucky winner of the Aston garage tour during the race. Absolutely fantastic! Saw a full stop and driver change from less than 10m away. The chap from Aston that took us round was more than happy to answer any lame questions I could think of, and not a rushed quick look. Got as long as we wanted.
Thanks PH!
And as LM bars go the Pie and Piston was great, accounting for the stupid ACO imposed restrictions. Had a nice stretch out on the grass with a cold Kronenbourg.

Were there many winners that weren't there for the draw?
Ha, good spot. That is a mix of staff, crew members, commercial partners and various other "PH family members" including Mr Idiotgap, who got a garage tour as a reward for cycling to Le Mans! This was on Sunday AM instead of Saturday PM as we delayed it for filming purposes. The competition was for 6 people, and all 6 of those spaces were won, claimed and I'm pleased to say attended too.
Cheers
