It's the first time I've seen the roundabout so bad. We would have been ok on our own as we could have used the side entrance. As we were towing newcomers they needed to go in off the roundabout. In hindsight I think we should have just pushed on through the side and sorted the mess out once we were in.
We arrived at 4pm Friday to Blu Nord in an an E46 M3 and a modified Clio 172. Both were attracting a bit of attention at MB but a bit of revving from both cars was enough for the crowd that had formed. Didnt see anything particularly bad on Friday myself.
Sunday night was bad for us as a stag group from the UK and another group from the UK were burning rubbish with petrol in the pitch next ours. Thick black smoke was everywhere and they were also chucking gas canisters on to it. They also tried to flip an Austin metro over in the pitch next to ours. Total pricks. I didn't see them the next morning, all still asleep, pissed out of their minds. They probably missed their train/ferry home which would teach them a lesson.
Apart from that, we all had another great Le Mans.

About 20 years ago, the first time we went to Le Mans you could still by CS gas in supermarkets or at least someone in our group had procured a can!. I suspect you cannot these days.
We ended up in Blue and nar a very large tent of the most appallingly behaved Danes. They couldn't handle their drink and were very aggressive while thinking it funny to set fire to a chaps tent etc.
About 4 in the morning on the Friday when they were all in their tent a gaffer taped Cs spray was lobbed in, guy ropes pulled and pegged down and a small Union flag stuck in the mud outside. They were gone by the time we awoke for breakfast only their shredded tent remained.
I can't help thinking that CS would be a pleasant treat for these car vandals.

In previous years (2003 and 2012) Sunday night has been okay for us. 2003 was Houx and 2012 was Tertre rouge. Obviously it's changed a lot since 2003... TR in 2012 had a great Sunday atmosphere; I suppose I was naive to expect bleu to be the same. In 2006 we did leave on Sunday night but not because of the potential for fkwits to lose all sense of reality and common decency. Such a shame that people have to alter their plans for these idiots.
Went to St Saturnin Friday morning then left after downpour, got stuck in exit queue for 45 minutes or so. Got back to camp then walked to pits at 4pm back by 6pm then walked to tram stop nearer town (quatteloup?) tram to Irish bar in town till 11ish then back to camp by midnight. Listened to some music (although I think someone told the Dutch opposite to turn theirs off as it went quiet halfway through an album version F*@%). Extremely quiet Friday with no sign of trouble, drunken yobs, car trashing, Police.... did I miss something? I feel cheated in some way It pays to pick your ACO campsite carefully (we're not in an expensive private one) and as early as possible
Went from Wednesday to Monday and had a great time.
Sunday night was extremely quiet apart from the odd bang just as it got dark. At 1am there didn't seem to be a single person up and about.

Granted I didn't go looking for it (and specifically avoided going via mulsanne and cutting through the middle road to the porche curves rounadbout), but the only things I saw were a car covered in loo roll in parking bleu (opposite old mb entrance/temp roundabout) and some goons revving/donuting later sunday night on the public section of blue nord. I saw the speedchills site on a walk through bsj early sunday am and through I wouldn't like to stay there, but they have a 2nd site on blue sud but I don't know if you can choose which one you get..
I think whoever decided to close the road / track between Mulsanne corner and Arnage didn't consider the impact on traffic through the BSJ roundabout. Also it is a shame that we weren't able to drive that section of the track as there were some new people in our group and I'd sort of promised them a half a lap.
We went from Houx to Arnage for dinner on Friday and my plan was to completely bypass BSJ roundabout by going round the track, instead we had to queue for hours to drive through a hoard of people who expected a burnout from an automatic car with four stout gentlemen inside. It was a bit intimidating, but I found that if you just completely ignored them and kept edging forward they moved. Even the guy who was leaning on my bonnet at one point.
Still, more of an unpleasant side-effect, which can be avoided, rather than a reason not to go.

All was good fun until about 7-8pm I would say by blue sud and BJS. Then the pissed up danes, brits and dutch all go a bit too far. Wouldn't dream of taking my car out after about 5pm on the friday, even my shed of a Clio 182! Thought that was a small negative point for an overall fantastic week at Le Mans. Also the 1st tickets (pistonheads) camp site wasn't bad either!

That part of the circuit from Mulsanne to Arnage is tricky at the best of times. It is all too easy for somebody to exceed their talent quotient at Indianapolis and bin it into the gravel or worse into oncoming traffic. All this on a piece of road that will be raced on the next day. They were planning to build a bypass for this section and take it into the permanent circuit. I think that will now happen next year.

I didn't realise that they'd closed the track as well! It's been getting steadily worse each year I've been - in 2007 you could drive the whole track on the friday, then the next year you could only drive the mulsanne, and the following year only down the 1st chicane. Does the mainly good natured gathering still happen around the pub/restaurant on the mulsanne?andyps said:

Tertre Rouge but I think we were probably at the quiet end this year. In previous years though we have seen the Sunday night carpet roll rocket launchers and the lets burn everything made of plastic crew which we wished the wind direction was a little better for us Since they got rid of the oil drum bins though and started searching for fireworks it has improved no end RenOHH said:

We had a similar group of 18-21 year old stag do lads pitch Friday next to us, must be a different lot as they departed Sunday before the race finished and left everything behind - gazebo, tents, air beds, chairs the lot etc etc!
E39 M5 doing doughnuts Sunday evening - hope he had some rear tyres left to drive home......
First time in Blue Nord for me after missing out on the camp site I've been in the previous three years in a row. I'll be booking 2016 as soon as the operators are taking reservations - I am NEVER going back to Blue Nord lol

Ah yes I remember. Either the R32 or R33 (sorry I'm not that clued up!) was metallic blue? We also saw the M5 doing doughnuts and thought he had done a few too many to have much rubber left!We had a similar group of 18-21 year old stag do lads pitch Friday next to us, must be a different lot as they departed Sunday before the race finished and left everything behind - gazebo, tents, air beds, chairs the lot etc etc!

Yes, a different group. These guys on the stag were older, perhaps late 30s. They took the white marquee after the group with the Dodge Charger and large American RV had left on Sunday evening. The other fire starting group who tried to flip the metro were next to them with a VW T4 van and an Impreza.
Blue Nord was just about okay. I would go there again, but I'll be trying to get Tertre Rouge next time I go. I camped there in 2012 and it was just great.
