Epinettes was much better than expected. It is very close to Houx and the tram. Site was well run and no chavvyness in evidence.

Calassic next year but will be back to Epinettes (although they need a burger van).

Showers clean and, relatively speaking, not that busy. Lots of electric hook ups too.

I was on Houx. We were not permitted to take ANY alcohol from the campground into the circuit proper on Saturday or Sunday. Seemed OK prior to the weekend - and friends camped on the other side (Bleu/Bleu Nord) had no such issues. Given that I'm disinclined to pay the equivalent of $8.50 for less than a pint of ste track beer, or $90 for a bottle of fake Champagne that I could buy in a French supermarket for $9 - I shall not be returning. A shame for me, in that I've been to this event more than 30 times, but that's torn it for me.
Well your friends were very lucky - I was in Bleu Nord and they were bag-checking every time I went in, via either the Maison Blanche, start line, or main entrance gates.

Also in what way is Pommery (current champagne tent champagne) fake Champagne? And what supermarket are you finding it in for $9? Looking online Carrefour only sell the 2000 rose (at 215Euro a pop) and wine-searcher.com suggests $26 for a bottle of standard brut.

We were on Houx, and we were able to take beer in, as long as it was not in glass bottles. We were searched and plastic bottles and tins were OK, glass was not OK.

What surprised me was that we were permitted to take an unopened bottle of Bordeaux into T34 (over the pits) on Saturday night. It wasn't even as if it was smuggled in - just walked in with it in full view of the security guards. It could easily have been lobbed onto the pits or probably even launched onto the track itself and the potential consequences of that really don't bear thinking about eek

We were staying within the GE area, on the TL site but you could just as easily taken a bottle of champagne purchased from the Pommery tent.......

We took a coolbox on wheels to the start full of cold bottles. Not a blink all the way from Airtrack to the circuit stands opposite Audi.

Tertre Rouge - normally camp away from the circuit but changed this year due to a number of meetings on site etc. to make life easier. Really pleased, good fun, secure and most enjoyable. Will be getting a house down there next year as the whole family is coming due to the charity event we're running to/down there, but I'm happy to go back to TR in the future.

Maison Blanche / Maison Blanche (assuming we're organised enough to book early again)

Love being inside the circuit perimeter, not having to carry your entry tickets around, being able to see the race from your BBQ, views of the Porsche Curves exit.

On the alcohol front we drove in Friday afternoon with a car loaded with half a dozen cases of beer and north of 50 bottles of wine without a question.

2011: Houx
2012: Houx
2015: Beausejour

I'd like to try a private camping next time I go, but not sure of location.
What is there at Tetre Rouge and how soon do the prime locations fill up? Would I have to book now for 2016?
I'd like one of the camping areas that offer a communal marquee, saw this at BSJ but would prefer to be in the village somewhere.

Not sure anyone will be selling tickets just yet as I'm not aware of the ACO confirming the dates for next year yet, though some may be taking non-binding expressions of interest.

I've never done the direct-with-the-ACO thing but for the independent ticket sellers you can expect bookings to open in Sept./Oct. and from there the private camping will sell out early in the New Year, followed by the general camping towards more May/June.

So far as private camping areas on the ACO sites is concerned in recent years I think it's been:
  • Lycian -> inside Porsche Curves.
  • PistonHeads/1st Tickets -> Bleu Nord.
  • SpeedChills A -> Beausjour.
  • SpeedChills B -> Bleu Sud.
  • Team Langoustine -> Tetre Rouge (inner).
  • (who-ever that Danish company is with the identical tents in regimented rows) -> Houx/Karting Nord.
No need to panic yet but if you want to get one of the more popular private camping areas keep an eye on their websites come the end of the year...

Can I just correct one element of the above the trackside private site on the inside of the Porsche Curves was only the Porsche Owners Club for one year it has been Village on the Curves since 2012 and does not restrict itself to Porsche Owners.

To ensure there is no misunderstanding I am a Director of Lycian Events Limited who operate the site .
