Hi forum,

As always, le mans ends on a low note - the bother of squaring up money within the team. No one likes admin!

I'm quite baffled by the tolls tho. Autoroute calculator says 32 euros ish. However, the bills are 47 quid, 18, 5.80, 5.77, 18 ish again then nowt.

Can anyone explain how we have a spurious extra bill for the first leg of the journey? Not only is there 1 toll more than the return leg, it's higher than the route planner implied for the total? Route was standard autoroute to rouen, then more autoroute to le mans... No speeding, we used cruide just below the limit all the way..

Calais to Abbeville Nord is E8
Rouen down to Le Mans is E24.80

Total (each way) is E32. depending on your credit card rate/fees the E8 equates to the £5.xx fee and the E24 to the £18.x fees.

So £23.50ish each way. £47 is the total...?

Simple example

Drive from London to Cardiff.
Then....
Drive back.

How much did you spend on tolls on the way there?
How much did yo spend on the way back?

That will help explain.

Calais to Le Mans..
£47.69 + £18.73 + £5.81
Le Mans to calais:
£5.77 + £18.46

So, 47 quid more there than back ?!

Are you sure that £47.69 isn't fuel?

This is what ours was with cash. Sorry OP, I don't know why yours is so high.

That £47 definitely isn't a toll (unless you got lost)

No way. You can get to Bordeaux for £47. With a caravan on the back.

Don't Sanef also run/manage some of the service areas - it's a regional thing, so quite likely that as one of the others mentioned it's a fuel bill, not a toll.

Consensus says it's a fuel bill - presumably the automated station is run by sanef, would explain it.
