Stickering up for 2016
Discussion
I'd asked for as multiple finish stripe, which couldn't be easily done, I suggested ways of doing it and he spent time talking to suppliers until he came up with a plan that worked...he even sent me colour samples to make sure the red I got was the red I wanted...I don't know how many clients he works with, but that level of focus goes way beyond what I was expecting given the prices charged...
This is one of my favourite threads of the year. I wish more people would post their stickered up cars ahead of LM as it really gets me in the mood.
Mine are on their way - I just need to decide how far in advance I should sticker up - Last time in the TVR, I had them on for 6 weeks beforehand but for some reason that doesn't feel as appropriate on the M3 as I take it to client's sites etc..

My stickers from Stickerup have arrived, i ended up getting three seperate orders and i am booked in for my main stickers to be put on the car on the 10th June.
A waxing question.
I prefer to clay, machine, glaze and wax the car BEFORE the stickers go on and have done this every year. However the sticker designers/fitters have asked me not to wax the car. That means i am relying on the weather from the 10th to the 13th June to be able to clean and wax the car once the stickers are on.
Question - would you just do the usual and wax it before the company fit them or go from their advice? My car will be the Audi A5 Warsteiner stickers posted in this thread, plus my own add ons.

If the car's waxed beforehand it makes the job of applying the stickers a bit harder as they don't stick as well. The other side of the arguement is if the car's waxed before they've been applied it makes removing them a lot easier. One of the lads I went with last year ended up removing lacquer as well as the stickers from his Nissan Navara so I'd be wary of not waxing before they're applied.
hmm it's only a weeks worth of sticker time, not worth risking your paint work for.
As Dan pointed out, the mass majority of attendees walk past your car or see it on the move and appreciate the effort or love the design... they don't walk on up and look for mismatched edges, slightly un-level applications or check for air bubbles...it's just fun.

I'd go with the recommendation, personally. I would also check that when they say don't wax it that they do actually mean wax, people do have different interpretations as to what a wax/polish/compound etc actually is.
For the two that I've already applied I just made sure that the surfaces were clean using a quality shampoo, ran my fingers over to check if a clay bar was required, gave a light spritz of QD with a buff and then applied the stickers using a water spray. I had read somewhere that adhesives could react to waxes, can't remember where that was though.
Tip No.3 is where I'd read about waxing
