Tribune - T23 Raccordement
Discussion
Having just tried to book up for LM 2016, I've just found out that our normal Dunlop Tribune (T5) has sold out (!) with the Airtrack. So, avoiding the pit straight, has anyone been in T23? I notice it has some odd looking seats with stubby back support but with a good view of the track (but presumably no screen to watch).
If you've used T23, how do you rate it? Tried a google search and can't find a fat lot.
Other option is purchasing a Dunlop Grandstand separately with someone else - does anyone have any suggestions? I will have to buy my general admission tickets from Airtrack, and haven't been able to find anyone who will sell me a T5 ticket by itself.
Cheers

I would recommend it. There is a good view and you can see the cars as they approach the Ford Chicane , through the esses & then as they go all along the Start/Finish straight; you can catch a glimpse of the action in the pitlane and of course there is the all-important large TV screen.
We did use Dunlop for a number of years but most of our party prefer Raccordement because it is very close to Parking Blanc which we always use. I did consider splitting our tickets for next year over Dunlop & Raccordement but in the end, because of the shambles that is the ACO members pre-sale, I decided to keep things simple so all our seats will be in Raccordement again.

You haven't booked yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The seats are OK and when the crowd thins out you can find a nicer one if you want. Not unpleasant, no more uncomfortable than any of the others and a hell of a lot quieter as there is no roof or sides - hope for a dry and not too hot race if you sit there.

Oh, perhaps I'm getting muddled up then. The T23 grandstand I'm on about definitely had a roof and I'm pretty sure the seats didn't have backrests. The seats are OK and when the crowd thins out you can find a nicer one if you want. Son and I have had seats in T23 ever since 1996, bar one year when we got seats in T18, the ACO tribune. T23 is the best we think by a long way: great location by the Ford Chicane, entrance to the pits etc , lots of action, has a giant screen opposite, close to Parking Blanc, easy access to The Village, Porsche Curves not too distant.
I agree the seating is not particularly comfortable but I assume all the tribunes are pretty similar. Lots of T23 people seem to vacate their seats soon after the start and don't return until the last hour or so, so spreading out is not usually not difficult.
It has a roof so good for weather protection, rainy or sunny, unless you're close to the front and bottom of the seats. We always ask for seats near the top so we get full protection. T23 also has an easy access area for the disabled if this is important to you.
By the way, I would not be giving away all the good stuff about T23 away had 2015 not been probably my last year at LM due to age/arthritis etc! If I do go again I would certainly be seeking seats in T23 again.

Just spoken to Brian and booked a couple of seats at Raccordement. 2 years ago was in Tavano but was given extra tickets for Stand 23 as well. I liked the view, its great for pics because you can see above the catch fencing as the cars sweep to their left before heading onto the pit straight
