I'll be taking my 4th car is as many years. Having been there and back in a smart Roadster Coupe, a Honda Civic Type R and last year in a Mazda3 derv, this year its this:
Nice! From past experience, watch out for the long gaps between fuel stops on the Autoroute. Was nearly stranded in mine! LFB531 said:
Collected my latest ride and chariot for June yesterday. Seemed a bit mad flying to Scotland and then doing a 500 mile drive home but it's a good way to bond with a new toy! I'm a 911 newbie so have gone for the 'light' option. Warned the lady wife that to be considerate for a change I was only picking up a sensible hatchback
Will be a fun mini-convoy then, can't wait !

What's the issue with fuel - thirsty cars or small tanks? I've never had range anxiety in my old M5!
In the case of rotary engined cars: both.I've easily managed Calais to Le Mans on one tank in both my EP3 Type R and smart Roadster. Before that when my Dad droves us down in his RX7 we had to stop for fuel twice.
This year I'm going from Zeebrugge in an RX8, so based on experience I'll stop at the aire de somme and fuel up if its quite. Then once past Rouen I'll stop again at the aire just before the juction for the A28.

Hopefully my Golf R estate will have been delivered looking like it could be here on the tuesday trip starts on wednesday night. One night to detail it before we go. Fingers crossed!!!!
Just a thought; you might want to vary the types of roads you take on the way there and back just to help the running-in. Gassing Station | Le Mans | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
