I saw this on a website earlier, just got me thinking. WOW, just look at it, its more of a sports prototype than a road car made race car, just wondering whether the Astons, Ferraris, Porsches, Corvettes and Viper (singular) will see what way it went?! It kind of reminds me of the last generation of GT1 cars, Porsche GT1/Mercedes CLK particularly.

I'm looking forward to seeing it race, but a significant part of me can't help but worry that this kind of investment on winning a race series can lead to costs spiralling out of control for all teams as they try to catch up, which then ends with massive sanctions and we end up with even fewer cars on the grid... am I alone in thinking this, don't get me wrong, I am seriously looking forward to seeing it race!

Have Ferrari done enough with their 488 to keep up I wonder?!

Have Aston Martin got a party piece to pull out of the hat and surprise us with an AMG engined GTE car...

Porsche have updated their aero package I believe.

You always need a bit of luck at Le mans, you can have the best car in the world, but if you get rear ended by someone else or shred a tyre it can be rather costly! Big PR stunt returning to Le mans, Great to see smile But I will be following Ben Keating and Bill Riley running the private entry Viper Exchange team smile

Is the Viper effort continuing? Good news if it is, I thought it was over?

The SRT Factory backed cars are no longer, but Bill Riley and the Viper Exchange team will soldier on with the TI Viper smile

I believe the Riley team are on the reserve list, not that i'm hoping someones Le Mans dream doesn't happen, but it would be great to see them race the big ol Viper : )

I think talk of who's on the entry list and the reserve list is a bit premature

There are all sorts of formula used to work out the class and what they can and cannot use/do to a car. Porsche still seem to do quite well with a 50 odd year old car. As they all say, to finish first, first you must finish.

A few years ago there was a few revised GT40's entered. I think all were out before half way.

Still all the best to them, looks a great car and very good news to see another major team joining the race.

Ferrari will have the 488, Porsche a new RSR, the Aston will be some 40% new, the Corvettes will be strong, it will be an excellent entry list again. Will be at the classic this year instead but will miss the sound of the 458 accelerating up the straight and still being able to hear it all the way up to the Mulsane. The turbo 488 just won't sound the same.

Still, the most varied and competitive racing going on right now when you take into account how strong and manufacturer backed all the classes are.

Looks like Ford have put a lot of effort in.

Good point well made, don't know whats happened to me in the last few months, I've gone from mr glass is half full to mr the glass is nearly empty....

6 months and counting.... I cannot wait to find out the conclusion to this story, I'd love to see Ford come back with a bang, especially after their limited success at LM a few years back ( fab sounding if slow cars )

were they not looking at the regulations this year as to moving it more towards a BOP like they do in GT3?
