I have put this in LM forum as most likely most that come on here might have been to spa24.

I'm going to the WEC in Germany in July and the week after we are doing the Spa 24 hour ferries are all booked, I know I can just roll up at the Ring and pay there and then for camping. Question is do I need camping tickets before I turn up at Spa or can i just roll up pick a campsite and pay there and then.

There's not a lot of info on camping for this meeting on the official sites, I have looked at Camping l’Eau Rouge, but this seems a bit too far from the circuit.

I was at the Belgium Grand Prix couple of years ago and we camped at Les Combes corner right next to an Entrance to the circuit but cant find anywhere selling tickets for this site , or any other site for this meeting.

Travel Destinations have a package deal for ferries and camping, but don't require ferries, plus the campsite is 10 minutes drive from circuit,

Any info much appreciated thanks

We are too planning the same trip later this year, I Never camped at the 'ring' we stayed at the Centre Parcs last year which was cheap and really good. About a 20 minute drive though.

As for Spa there are a number of campsite spots at the Main Entrance by Eau Rouge. The one down the bottom (Closest to gate) is also nearest the toilets and showers and is flat, however it is also used as a car park on main race day.

There is more camping up the side of the entrance road as you come to this area (P5 I Think) It is sloped and protected from the road by a crash barrier and is covered by trees and is more woodland like. This is my preferred place to stay.

Camping E'Rouge, is a lovely little campsite, There is a separate area for people at the races, We drink more then usual campers, The showers are token but are hot and last long enough. There is a bar a swimming pool and they bring in takeaways each night. We stayed there for WEC last year and it was excellent. It takes about 40 minutes to walk to the circuit along a wide road with minimal traffic.

Thanks F18RSC, do you know if I can just roll up and pay at Eau Rouge for camping, or where to book beforehand,

Camping de L'Eau too far to walk, Bad enough walking round circuit with all the steep hills.

Yes camping at the circuit is turn up and pay, around 15Euros per person IIRC.

Limited services but good. Camping Eau Rouge down the road you need to book as they are quite a tourist site year round.

Not sure where we will camp yet.

Rick.

Thanks Rick, will have Plenty time to scout around for a site as we will only be coming from the Ring, need to find somewhere to stop on the Monday night as I don't think anywhere at Spa will be open until the Tuesday.

Can cope with the lack of facilities as my Van is suited to off grid, be good to get a flattish pitch though ..

My plans for the Ring / Spa double have been thwarted by my mothers 70th so it looks like just Spa for me, camping at Eau Rouge (external) campsite probably, thinking of doing some WW1 battlefields / memorials on the way and pitching up on the Wednesday night

We were planning that!!! Tell them that you are going for the race. They usually open the field at the front for only race fans. Tents only though.

That's where I've camped before, for the 24 and the WEC, whether it's because I've got a camper I don't know, stopped by the side of the road outside the Stavelot gate last year but was looking to go for a longer trip this year

Think This is the area that F18RSC is talking about above, so this is going to be my choice as its fairly central to everything.
I have stayed up by Le Combes corner for the F1 but concerned my son wont manage the walking distance from there to other parts of the circuit and back again each day.. and the field we were in turned into a quagmire and getting in and out in the car was impossible, since I'm there for nearly a week for the 24 i need to be able to get in and out.

dear all

Since I can't make it for LM in 2017, I am going to the Spa 24 hours (just the race itself, arriving on Saturday, leaving Sunday night as we have some driving around Eiffel/Mosel to get over with before that) and this topic has been a great help to me, thanks a lot!

I just wonder if it's possible to book trackside camp space in advance? Or there's usually enough available?

Hope to see other PHers there....

I think they sold parking / camping passes in advance last year but I've always just turned up, there's none for sale on the website for next year yet anyroad.

You can pre book in advance or just turn up and pay at the camping entrance's.
I'm going again in 2017, I stayed in the campsite next to eau rouge entrance this year, as post above, beware though!! by the Saturday it was a complete swamp, or at least the part we were on was. I would check out how bogged down the site is before parting with any cash.

Rain was biblical, as it normally is at Spa. I'm going again in 2017 but will not be using the sites by the circuit, I'm going to seek out the smaller camp sites that are in Franchorchamps village.

Thanks both so much for this useful info. Red E92 M3 and Nightfall Blue Elise 111R (both on Belgian plates) that's us if you spot us !!

Can I just ask where you can prebook? The website says "info not yet available", maybe we just have to wait a bit?

I ve found some small campings around the area as well, but they are all at least 10kms and more from the circuit. If you know of any closer by, we would appreciate as it will give us peace of mind to have our space booked.

There were no issues caused by the rain at Les Combes, and a 2 minute stroll to track-side, a good bit further to the pits etc though.
