Hi all. I am looking to do something different on the Friday evening as we have done the drivers parade many times and am not really bothered about the football.
Is it worth a trip to hotel de france late Friday afternoon/early evening? Is there much going on from others previous experience?
Thanks in advance

Arnage is always fairly lively with some nice cars etc.

The last few years I have had an invite to go to the hotel on the Friday before the race - unfortunately too busy - there is a concours organised at the village square

It looks like the perfect antidote to the madness that takes place around the circuit on the Friday.

Well worth a visit, we dropped in on the Thursday and had lunch there last year. Derek Bell was in there being interviewed by the press, the hotel is full of motor sport memorabilia and there was a number of classic cars parked in the square.

Isn't it normally the Aston owners club who take over on the Friday? Still a pleasant run out, but tough to get food or a drink.

We used to go down Thursday lunchtime when it's less busy, but usually still plenty of nice metal. If the square is busy, and it usually is, there's parking down near the river behind the centre, no more than 5 minutes away.

If you go there, try to make time to go to the top of the hill and pop into La Luna - great food, drink and music!!!

Last year we popped down after the race on Monday.
Still quite a few nice cars and many car nuts in there. Restaurant not open but good bar food available.

I'm back again after the Classic this year for a few days.

Went to the HdF last year on Friday.
Yes, it was busy, but there was an eclectic, extraordinary collection of vehicles parked up.
We found it easy enough to find a table and order coffee. Didn't try eating there though.

I think it's well worth the drive down.
