As title guys

My cars booked in for the Great British welcome, but my mate wants to get his car in for the PH side of things. How can we get his car signed up for it?

Cheers

What's the Great British Welcome? Is it some competitor event to the Classic British Welcome in St Saturnin - http://www.classicbw.org/ ?

Hi. Am I missing something, I've never had to book in for CBW before, just turned up and parked. I wasnt at Le mans last year so have things changed?

If so where do I have to sign up?

Thanks in advance

If I have had anything worthy they have ushered me on to the show field never had to book prior to turning up.
Maybe DeanR32 has an Alpine and its booked into the Main Hall.
Or is it something to do with the Pistonhead meet which was also on the CBW site last year.

I don't have anything special to show off at all, and I've never been, but there's some sort of parade that we've signed up for I think that a few of us are doing. Apparently led by some Harley Davidsons. I've never been, so I'm not sure what goes on.

Do some of the cars go for a drive or something?

My mate wants to park up with the PH side of things. I'm not entirely sure what the hell goes on!

Like above you normally have to have something interesting to get a booked place.
If you try to get in, in say an insignia you will be turned away. The place gets to capacity pretty quick too.
Never really seen any bikes there either?
a good morning out away from the circuit though and great to see some nice vehicles.
Generally regarded as a must these days for us brits visiting the race!.

The classic bikes are parked in front of the school, so you drive/walk past them to get in, always a few interesting bikes turn up

I've just had a look at an email my friend has from the event organisers. We need to be there for around 10am, and it says something about setting off in a cavalcade to the town centre around 4pm, which heads to a car park in town

I've never been to the CBW, so don't know what goes on, and god knows what happens on the drive to town. Looking forward to it though!

Hi Guys,
Here is the information you need for the 16th Classic British Welcome . .. which is sometimes called the Great British Welcome (because it is really great?).
Piston Heads have their own space within the site (as last year) reserved for around 200 classic or sports cars.
For access to this PH area, you MUST pre-register with PH.
As always, there is no need to register to come to this FREE festival of around 1000+ classic and sports cars, in the village of Saint Saturnin on the edge of Le Mans (Friday 17th June, 9am to 5pm). If you have an interesting car you should be given access to the site . .. unless we are very full of course, when we get very choosy!
We have taken lots of feedback from visitors and try to improve the event every year, so we have changed the parking system and improved the exit signage.
There is never enough public parking, so please be patient and park responsibly. This is a FREE event and EVERYONE organising is a volunteer (95% French). There is a free cinema, music, exhibitions and of course bars and food.
Access to the site gets REALLY busy from 10.30 to 12.30, so be prepared to queue a bit and enjoy the atmosphere.
If you have any specific questions, please email me via our website (English version) and I will respond asap.
http://www.classicbw.org/?ln=UK
I will try to attach the event flyer to this note.
Hope to see you in June, Regards Dave Williams (CBW Vice President)

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CBW 2016:

IF ANYONE HAS A QUESTION ABOUT THE CBW EVENT, PLEASE EMAIL ME VIA OUR WEBSITE (ENGLISH VERSION)

The exit route is yet to be agreed/approved by the Gendarmerie (Police), but like you, we will want it to be well signed and the best it can be. There are two options once off the site and I will try to publish a map once all approved this end.

There are often many motorbikes, sometimes a club exhibiting classic bikes, at the front of the main building as you enter the site.

For the Cavalcade, DeanR32, please don't confuse the other visitors by posting something that is specifically for your group!
There is a Cavalcade (procession of around 30-40 cars) that leaves our site at 4pm and is escorted to the centre of Le Mans by around 30 Harleys. These cars go on a mini tour of the villages on the back road and are taken to reserved parking in the town center, so that they can watch the famous Parade des Pilotes (Drivers Parade), which starts at around 5.30-6pm. There is a smaller Cavalcade that goes ahead directly to Le Mans with around 8 sports cars that will represent the CBW and actually take part in the Parade des Pilotes . .. in front of around 160,000 spectators. The town centre is incredibly busy . .. my advice is "take the tram" from the University or Antares (near MMA Arena/Tertre Rouge at the circuit).

Thanks to all the visitors for making this such a GREAT event !

The classic is only a 3 day event and there is so much to see and do on Circuit you wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

Where as the main LM event is spread over a week there is this unique opportunity for other events like the CBW to be organised without clashing with whats going on at the Circuit.
