Potatoes and TDutchy...

With the event fast approaching I'm crossing off the various things we need to take down for the Le Mans trip. one of my compatriots has acquired a rather special beer cooler and I am now thinking, do I need a Gazebo?

I was thinking if we are arriving together and may set up shop next to each other, are you planning on bringing a Gazebo? I'm not really sure of the etiquette and how much time is actually spent next to the tents vs the main tent & track as its my first time, but a shelter of some sort between pitches would be a good place to hang out, drink beer and smoke a cigar should the occasion take us there!

Also, you two booked on the 6.20 now?

Hello mate,

yes, we're booked onto the 6.20 train and we weren't planning on bringing a gezebo solely due to us having very little space... but it's a great idea if we're pitching together. We'll do a review of what we're bringing and how much space that leaves us and let you know if we can fit our gazebo in one of the cars

Currently at a wedding in the north and acquired a throw up gazebo in conversation so I'll be ensuring it fits in the car.

If you could bring some extra tent pegs if you have them, that'd be great (I'm sure you can slide them down the side of the engine bay if needed!)

Just got a Facebook Message from one of the SpeedChills girls to say they'll be doing a st shirt competition. As an owner of many incredibly st shirts I'm confident of victory but if you'd like to win 2nd prize, or just make up the numbers, pack your sttest shirt for the competition smile

I'll have to have a look at what's in the wardrobe but I know for a fact my two co-pilots have some fairly special shirts...

We're in for a sh*t shirt night............ nothing can be worse than our costumes last year!! Although we got loads of attention from the ladies in Le Mans town on Friday night which was nice.....

Wardrobes are being ransacked as I type. See you all on Thursday.

The 31mm of rain we had today in Nottingham and the 20mm yesterday has meant that all packing and stickering has got to be done tomorrow before heading south to Folkestone. Don't think we will make last orders at the hotel tomorrow night.

To all who camped at Speedchills this year, thank you for a fantastic weekend.

First Le Mans experience and it couldn't have been better. Everyone super friendly and up for a laugh, especially Denzels crew....what happens in Le Mans stays on Le Mans....

Timmy, Mario and Luigi will vouch for the amount of fun we all had, especially at the point of "if you call me Timmy one more time, I'm going to lamp you" and the response being "Timmy, Timmy, Timmy, Timmy, Timmy"

Hope everyone got back at a reasonable hour after the 6 hour delay we experienced.

Same again next year for me so I'll see you then! 360 days and counting!

One of the funniest weekends for a while smile

Awesome to meet and camp with you tomm783 with Kaal and Timmy, we were really lucky to meet you guys, our little group of Le Mans newbies had an awesome Le Mans! We'll arrange a LM17 planning session one evening next year.

Denzel's camp was wild, a lot of fun was had with those guys - I hope that tent was used eventually!

The lads behind us in the gazebo lined with Christmas lights and their spirit bar, complete with optics was masterful. They were good lads and took Timmy's (accidental, drunken) demolishing of their bar quite well when he went to apologise in the morning smile

Cannot wait until next year!!

Luigi was incredibly hungover

PS. If anyone remembers what I (Mario) got up to on Friday night after about 11pm, please let me know as - other than the utterly bizarre pictures I found on my camera - I have no idea...

Tomm and Potatoes, good to meet you all (and that includes Timmy!!). Glad you all enjoyed your first time.

All I will say is that Alex and particularly Phil are very special... the tent stayed in BSJ by the way!! See you all next year no doubt.
