Thank you british friends for taking your great cars with you to Le Mans and Le Mans Classic. You are a big part of the reason why these events are so special.
We french people get to see cars that we don't usually see in France like Ultima, TVR, Marcos, Noble, Gardner Douglas and other special toys. Moreover, some of you come with cars french people wouldn't take out for a 50 miles trip like a Bentley 3 litre, or even old Jaguar XK. What about this Ferrari 250 SWB!
It's always a pleasure to see your cars, as much as it is to see the cars of the event or the clubs.

I myself will go with either the G15, the Caterham or the XJR (bought in your lovely country smile )

Only the Fiat is a french one! biggrin

I'll choose depending on the weather and the mood.
See you there!

I'm Thursday morning unfortunately...on the Tunnel. Hopefully things will be better than the carnage it's sounded like over the last week around Calais!
Hi John, we're on the 07:20 tunnel crossing, it's the second time for us and travelling down with another pair, we're both in TVRs. You're more than welcome to convoy with us if you'd like, I've planned a route with a mixture of Autoroute & D roads to see some countryside etc.
Cheers for the offer but I'm on the 8:50 so unless you guys are waiting around for others I'll be too late.

Lovely jubbly! LMC 2016 here we come...

Woody Westfield is sulking, having taken us without a hitch in 2012 & 2014. Albeit the lack of a roof was pretty interesting...

But this time it's Jules' 1968 Junior Spider turn, in convoy with our pals 1947 Big Bertha. (Top Gear rules!)

Adventure awaits...

What a great post. The last couple of years we've been there it's the same but in reverse for the brits.. looking forward to the Alpines, Turbo 2s and odd looking citroens no one can quite name. I'll be there in the Caterham which isn't nearly so interesting.

Thank you:-) I was there in 2012 but unfortunately this isn't the Chanteloupe show car winner...amusingly I spent a bit of time trying to explain to various enthusiastic locals (In pigeon French) it was a Jensen as they couldn't work out what is was ;-)

Never mind, we might come across each other in any case. It might depend on whether or not we get up in time on Thursday morning ! Good luck anyway & have a great time. Fingers crossed for the campsites to dry out by then and the tunnel queues are gone, not sure if the Euros are finished by the time we go.

Le Mans Classic number 3 for me. First time without my Dad but the first trip with Mrs Mattress. All being well I will be driving the AH3000 again complete with its recently refurbished gearbox.

PS I have just bought a Citroen GS. If I had been able to buy earlier in the year there is every chance that would have got the nod over the Healey.

Will start from Paris with a few others (road trip called "From Paris To Le Mans") :

BMW 2002 Touring, Fiat 850 Sport Coupe, BMW 518 E28, BMW 535i E28, Mazda MX-5 NA, VW Golf MkI Convertible x2, Renault R5 & R5 Turbo, VW Baja Beetle, VW Beetle '72, Peugeot 406 Coupe V6 and Porsche 911 2.7S.

A little funny crew with cars for any budget. wink

Not many French cars in that group? You should have joined in on the Brexit vote?

Actually the main topic in each mouth of your country for sure !
I've some friends from UK, and curiously, we'd never spoken about that... I was thinking on that when I saw the results. Lucky or not lucky ? Not my job to determine that... biggrin

Without daring to get onto politics on here. It is what it is. It will all calm down soon. I don't think our Euro cousins should take it as a snub.

And we wouldn't want to miss out on the 24 would we?

As you said, not the point in this thread, and actually it does not concern me. smile
And what would we do without british people at Le Mans ?...
