Has anyone heard how those who have signed up for this will get in? I recall last year there were windscreen stickers but have heard diddly squat about how those on the gate will decide who is a valid PH'er

I asked the same thing on the SS event section thread. All quiet at PH towers and we're off tomorrow so can't print anything post that!

I reported your comment in the SS thread to the mods in the hope that it would get their attention...

Hi guys,

Apologies, we had a slightly odd day in the office today due to the outages... And the fact that Ollie was stuck on the M1 for many hours because of the chap threatening to kill himself by jumping off the overhead gantry!

Anyway, instructions are going out tomorrow but of that is too late for anyone just let us know and we'll work it out somehow.

I'll update the other thread too!

Do you need to sign up or just turn up in something interesting?

You can just turn up to the CAB but have to sign up to the PH Friday Service, which is taking place at the CBW:

One of us will be stood at the gate (wearing a PH T shirt / coat ) - just wave at us and we'll sort it out (we will have a list of the attendees)

So for the second year running. i and a mate signed up, printed out our passes turned up at 10:30 ish and where turned away as PH site was full ,The great British Welcome that was now seems to be dominated by local car clubs . Don't think our contingent will be visiting again it has become a bit too much hassle.

There was no checking of passes or taking attendance here. I got in fine and was a good morning, didn't see all the CBW as wanted to avoid traffic leaving.

Just to check... are you sure you didn't drive straight past the PH area by mistake? We'd moved this year and were on the left just after you had gone through the tunnel. Reason for asking is that we had plenty of space left all day as even when we started getting quite full, a few people started leaving so there was always space.

I'd be interested to know who turned you away so we can speak with the event organisers.

Thanks to all those who came along - it was great to see you all!

The CBW guys try to push you into the main area unless you said you were going to PistonHeads, then you got pointed to the first turn in.

Hi James , nope stopped in left hand lane by the PH entrance 50-100yds before main, saw couple of your crew in the gazebo on the right .St Saturnin stewards wouldn't allow us to turn in said it was full despite pointing to our PH smileys. Having been ushered then into main site there was no parking there so had to drive up passed the church to park. Walked back down had beer with the crowd we normally meet with. Couldn't then be bothered to walk down to PH field. We where black 993 turbo and blue 993 c2.

Grrrrr. That's really annoying - sorry about that. Sadly the combination of the language barrier and the marshals changing positions / roles every 30 mins wasn't helping. I'll speak to the organisers in an attempt to improve things again for next year (if they'll have us!)

We arrived around 0945 and had no problem getting into the PH field - cars were streaming in! raffic out around 12noon also much better than previous years - turning right at the top of the hill permitted this year.

Early arrival early departure is definitely the best way to do the CBW.

Went on to the 'park on the track' thing at Mulsanne after - less impressed with that. Grumpy ACO marshall wouldn't let us down Indy to the parking. A few nice cars but nothing on the CBW.
