We arrived around 0945 and had no problem getting into the PH field - cars were streaming in! raffic out around 12noon also much better than previous years - turning right at the top of the hill permitted this year.

Early arrival early departure is definitely the best way to do the CBW.

Went on to the 'park on the track' thing at Mulsanne after - less impressed with that. Grumpy ACO marshall wouldn't let us down Indy to the parking. A few nice cars but nothing on the CBW.
Glad that you enjoyed it!

This was a waste of time for us. I wont even bother trying next time.

We drove around for over an hour trying to get in and just gave up, badly sign posted and told to go wrong way despite smileys...

Not sure why a big event is stuck in the smallest of places? Am I being unfair? Having never made it in i cant really comment on the event itself.

Not sure what was wrong with the old PH format of burger and beer tent and a stroll around the cars.

We went to St Saturnin for the 1st time this year after much discussion, ended up parking on the verge in the turning on the right just past the entrance, came back and some scrote has keyed the car across both offside doors, so much for the great British welcome

Sadly the Very British welcome has changed over the last few years. It's now much bigger than it ever was, I believe it's since it has joined other car meet groups.
It used to be like a lazy afternoon car meet with a marque theamed day. Now it's more like a huge jamboree.
I think it's my age but last year was my last at the BW.

Sadly "the powers that be" raised the price of the land "rent" to a point where we just couldn't afford it.

However, we're always happy to listen to the community - I'll set up a vote before next year's event to see what the majority want. I'd happily investigate an alternative venue / event if that's what people want. Don't forget, we only organise these things for your benefit, so we'll always listen to what you want.

As the guy who was the first car at the very first CBW I have seen the event grow hugely from the first time it was held in front of a warehouse on the N138. The weather didn't help this year with so many of the fields out of bounds either partially or completely due to flooding and a lot of people having to walk in. Having said all that we turned up about 11 and got straight into the PH site with no probs - so thanks James for all the organising - it was completely worth it from our point of view. And the PH site seemed much drier than most of the other areas where cars were on show. I know that many foreign clubs are involved these days in what essentially started out as a Brit event but we go to look at the cars, regardless of nationality. Still a must do event for us and much appreciated on what is a quiet day at the track.

I agree with Purple Haze. I've been to Le Mans 19 times now, but this is the first time I've attended the CBW. We didn't arrive until around noon, drove straight into the PH area and parked (black Cerbera). We had a wander round for an hour or so, saw some amazing cars, had a bite to eat and left. Queued for around 40 minutes to get out which wasn't too bad when compared to the Tunnel yesterday where we sat in traffic for over an hour before a 6 hour delay furious

Not really British any more mostly French car clubs. it seems to have got too big. Wont be going next year. Perhaps we need another startup GBW somewhere else?

Piston heads parking was excellent though!

We're going to investigate the options - I'll also set up a poll to see what the community wants as (at the risk of repeating myself) we only organise these things for you lot!

2 scratchs on my trunk also... Not as big as yours but not very funny, I discovered these too late.

We arrived with the 2 TR7's and the bike around 10-11am (I think, can't quite remember) got waved into the PH camping without too much of a queue on the main road. Parking was easy getting in and out and well organised - looked far less hassle then trying to park in the main GBW area.

Well done to the PH team for making it so easy. My only other comment would be I think you could make a bit more of it from a PH perspective. Do some giveaways, sell PH stuff, competitions etc. Maybe you were doing this kind of stuff but it didn't seem obvious.

Thanks again

Glad you enjoyed it too. With regards to the giveaways we had planned to do so, but the Pit Stop the day before had been a little bit more popular than we'd thought... by which I mean we'd given everything away! Regarding selling stuff, the CBW is all charitable and local businesses so it was felt that it wouldn't have been appropriate for us to set up our shop. Oh, and regarding competitions we did do a "best car stickers" award which was won by a Jaaaaaaaaggggg.

Having said all this I take your point and we'll try and improve a bit more next year.

Last year I wasthere with the Cobra (without roof) and spent two hours getting very wet when we left. Said we would not do it again this year, but having the resistance of a soggy sponge, we decided to attend. Very glad we did, the PH parking worked well, queues in and out were minimal and a great time was had by our mob!

Regarding the above quote, was it this Jaaaag, in which case, what did we win? :-)
