Hello
I need some help with Le Mans please. I’ve been twice, so I know the format/ where to watch etc. The only thing is I’ve never booked it.

So, for booking for 2017 – can someone please tell me where I can book camping. I’ve found agencies doing a quick google search - is that the way to do it? Anything to avoid? I just want camping.
Last time my mate tried to book (2014 I think) we were put on a never ending waiting list, and never got notification in the end, something about lack of camping because I think Mercedes had a big area of what was camping??? Never paid too much attention, and my mate had to pull out anyway for personal reasons. I want to just book without hassle now if that's possible.

Last time I went was I think before the main exit, so I think it was Bleu Nord, though it might have been Tetre Rouge…it was one of the most civilised, not very big, a kind of thin strip on the side of a hill overlooking the track. To be fair I’d settle for anywhere, only going to pitch up for 2 nights, just want to see the race.

Any info very much appreciated.
Thanks

In recent years, I've used "Just Tickets", They insist you buy two General Admission with each camping pass and charge a hefty commission but still works out cheaper than the others who will only sell a complete package including crossing (which also has a hefty markup). They put you on a waiting list and contact you as soon as they get their allocation. I used to book around this time and they never let me down, that was for Houx which is always in demand.

Obviously the cheapest way is direct through the ACO but even as a member it's a lottery as to what you'll end up with.

Hi, try "Just Tickets", based in Dover I think, you'll find them on Google. For now you'll be on a waiting list and maybe pay a small deposit with final prices confirmed later in the year once the ACO announce the date and next year's prices. You don't have to buy a travel package with them (unlike many agencies) but you will most likely also have to commit to a general admission ticket as part of the purchase. You'll need one in any event to get in to the circuit.

I have been booking with JustTickets for the last 10 years, after coming unstuck trying to go cheap with the ACO direct - never again!

They will do their upmost to accommodate your requirements, for me it's worth spending the extra with a UK ticket agency.

Cheers

That's Tertre Rouge, you'd struggle to find a spot not turning up till the Friday though

from experience not arriving till Friday you need a campsite with numbered pitches

Thank you for the information, all of you. Very much appreciated. I hadn't come across Just Tickets, and I noticed the ones I was looking at were trying to charge for passage. I will make a booking now.

Thanks for confirming the campsite was Tertre Rouge.
To be fair I'll sleep anywhere just to see the race again, but if I can get in there I'd be very happy.

As for the information about turning up on Friday, I thought this would create an issue.
I'll go for Thurs instead. All a bit inconvenient, I'm travelling on my own, so hanging around for everything else is a bit pointless, I just want to see the race then get out of there.

I'll see what / if anything can be found with numbered plots.

I arrived Friday eve at Tertre Rogue. Not much space but as I just had a tiny 2 man tent it wasn't an issue. There were half a dozen spaces.

If you don't mind a 4km drive to the circuit I recommend Spay municipal camping. I'll be in the red MX5 in the annex, first on the left as you come in :-)
