Handy info for those of us newbies going next year smile
I'd pick BSJ hands down every time. You can't beat the mix of campsite drifting and endless burnouts.
There are some B*** ends that moan about it, but IMO they should just stop being so cheap.

I think this sums it up really! Go to a Private Site, Airtrack was only noisy for us on the Sunday night for the end party! Most of us were in there! Next year will be our third year there!

I like BSJ. I just don't like tts. If you look out and see a dark campsite, and yet are playing music at nightclub levels, I think it's fair to say that you are being a tt.

The Sunday night was the only night the the group behaved - having good clean fun as one does on the Sunday night...

I was at Tet Rogue but didn't arrive until Friday night. The tent at the entrance was loud but once I was settled down at the far end I didn't really notice it. Sat eve the race cars were louder than anything but I find a consistency of that allows me to sleep anyhow. (Apart from the regular backfiring of the Corvettes/For GTs!!! smile

This was bliss in comparison for BJ some years before where the neighbours played loud music through their PA system most of the weekend.

Strangley my previous two years in the mid 2000's I don't remember any noise. Thats was in BJ and Bleu Sud. Was it better back then?

My second time at Porsche wasn't much to complain about, considerate campers, good viewing, good security - I even left my car running with the doors open for an hour to charge phones and nothing came of it.

My biggest gripe was after the race, once the public road to the side was reopened, some trio of cretinous mouth-breathing knuckle-dragging amoebas decided that it would be top fun (in a Civic Type-R, Mazda RX8, and a Renault Megane) to repeatedly (lost count at 15) drag race 100 feet along the open stretch of PC.

The only outcome was some blue smoke from the Mazda, and about 3-dozen shaking heads from the campsite as people watched his clattering incompetence and very DIY-sounding launch control...

Also the weather, and my tent wasn't 100% waterproof.
It wasnt that bad at the camp, its been a bit worse in previous years outside it

Plot location makes a big difference to this, we're were tucked away on a quiet part of Houx & whilst there was some music etc till late there wasn't anything that kept us up.

That is the problem with Le Mans full stop.

It's become a bit of a Brits on the p*ss chav-fest in a lot of the campsites now. Thankfully Houx wasn't too bad this year apart from the d*ckheads who were playing music full blast until 5.00am on Monday morning. Thanks - that really set us up for our 600 mile drive home...

Was it just me that plank with the airhorn as well at BJ?
Seriously.....that tt. We were with TD in the Event Tents and backed onto the main BSJ site. That tt with the airhorn.....If we had identified him it was going up sideways.

Going by all the comments on here I am really surprised there are not more fisticuffs happening! I hope to go for the first time next year, I think I will be snobbish and pick the most expensive site, can you commute from Monaco?

Thomas Cook Sport have a number of people who come by public transport. It's a 10 minute walk max from the team. They do full catering and can supply a tent or caravan. Only noisy night was Sunday for the party. Great site, great people, great location.

If it was on a public road it can't be Thomas cook. The only road by that is the support road to the buggati circuit.

I didn't play any loud music at any time. I also didn't use an air horn at any time. I did play radio Le Mans on my earphones, I hope this didn't disturb you too much.

Most of the day I was at the circuit watching the racing.

I think the problem isn't me, its sales reps like you going to le mans and then complaining about burnouts on pistonheads, like you you've stumbled over from mums.net. No offense.

It wasnt the Thomas Cook area, the water pistols and water bombs were in the usual place between the Houx entrance and the old Houx Annexe roundabout.

What's your problem? If you were not playing loud music how could this be aimed at you?
