I actually don't mind the cars. It's a petrolhead / enthusiast place so a bit of messing around to be expected. It's the insanely loud music that I don't get.

I get what you mean.
Our first year was in Houx & it was rammed with TVRs.
Could it be that it's just less about the drive down now that it's a boring, heavily enforced cruise down a dull autoroute?
Or am I just a touchy bugger because I sold my nice car?
There were no TVRs there because they'd all broken down on the way there. The long wait at the Chunnel probably cooked at least 60% of them.

I don't see what people's issues are with burnouts. I also don't like the loud music, but I accept its part and parcel of Le Mans. It also doesn't bother me because I'm not retarded, so I wear earplugs and get pissed when I have to sleep.

The burnouts last moments. Music so loud night after night, that you can't hear your mates, let alone turn on Radio Le Mans at the campsite is not on.

First tail back of the return journey was at the peage entrance in Le Mans because of a broken down TVR

Another Epinettes person here, The first of our team on site decided he didn't like the pitch allocated by staff, partly as it was on the only slope in the field, partly because it was soaking wet, but mainly due to the noisy neighbours.

So once the stewards moved he decamped to adjacent the velodrome or whatever it is. Generally good although we were woken up about 3am by swiss arriving on the Thursday morning. They were shouting at each other then built and tested mimi motobikes etc. They did apologise later when we commented and they realised they hadnt been the best neighbours.

They did take one of the young lads in our group down to BSJ roundabout about midnight on Friday night. Apparently there was quite a bit of action down there, but well behaved.
We were on the on the other side of the road to the swiss... we had neighbours who watched a Scorpion concert and later Depeche Mode at full tilt on their projection TV... the next night their grandparents arrived (no joke) and it became very quiet...

We were on the top end of Epinettes and didn't suffer from flooding and that was a big plus. I did like you. Once the college student who allocated your place had moved, I moved to where I wanted to be...

The spelling is fine, it's the punctuation that's wrong. Moron.

Seriously? I haven't seen that many cars by the roadside in recent years, but I am going to the Le Mans Classic next week...

Burnouts? yes (to a point - I've seen a lot of inebriated people taking part in these)

Loud music? yes (but at 4am???)

But sitting on the rev limiter at 5am? No

Music so loud you can't have a conversation some distance away, why??? FFS!!

It is not part and parcel of Le Mans it is part and parcel of people proffering their lack of manners on others. They probably feel they're doing everyone a service by belting out their tunez (sic) at 4am.. and for the most it's people who are so drunk they can't stay awake to listen to their own idiocy.

For me it's about going, camping and enjoying ourselves, meeting friends made over the years and making new ones. Sharing Le Mans and sportscar stories. For those belting out the tunes at 4am its about....?? Probably doing what they do on a normal Friday or Saturday but without having to go back to their parents' place.

What I'm trying to say is that I go and enjoy myself and it doesn't impact on others or if it does it's a positive impact. Those who sit there on their rev limiter at 5am are enjoying themselves but are impacting on others in a negative way which then ensures that people with common decency and manners don't go to those campsites - it's probably a self fulfilling prophecy in itself... Of course it's always worse in
"football years" (unfortunately every other year now) which seems to bring out the worst.

Go to another campsite, you say, stay away, you say. Why should I?

I've been in a few 20ppl+ 4am rave up's on Annexe + Blue Sud, normally Fri + Sunday. They tend to be a magnet for the campsite idiot's to stumble over steal a few beers, grope a few of the lasses and fall over chairs. Even had a couple of lads in 2015 who were so obviously on the pinch that it was fun to let them think we had no idea.

Stayed in Team Langoustine this year, felt like people were actually there for the race! which was heaven smile

TL still make a noise in the marquee, but there is a cutoff/balance between ravers and race goers. A good balance I hope.
It can be difficult keeping the Volume Nobs off the PA sometimes! They know exactly who they are.

Thank you for pointing out my poor punctuation. I will endeavour to hop on the next train to Auschwitz, hopefully there I will be able to concentrate on perfecting my poor punctuation.

Do you have any thoughts on Le Mans and the topic of this thread? Care to share?
Or did you just read about it on the Internet? smile

Ha! We were quite a way from the tent but the music was very loud and clear - I wondered why they were so quiet the next night!

What would you like to know? I've been to LM enough times to know not to camp on BSJ, as it acts as a magnet for cretins. And yes, I was at LM this year.

First time for us and we had the choice of an M3 and a Lotus but we chose a stickered Renault camper van with a kitchen, a fridge, a power supply, a decent mattress and a pair of bicycles that took us round. I must say that I have come to the conclusion that a decent bicycle is both rarer and more desired at LM campsites than a supercar...slap me if am wrong but I saw a lot of supercar owners walking around looking enviously at our two-wheelers.

I loved looking at all the Ferrari's, Astons and classics around the area for sure (DB6 yum) but for me there wasn't much point to drive there on a crowded highway being tracked by French police to then park your pride and joy for days on end in the mud/beer. The paradox here being obviously the fact I enjoy looking at those pride and joys parked there smile

Shot of our little base. Note 78 is our year of birth but turns out also the only year Renault won LM...didn't know that but the guide pointed it out.

We were told to avoid BSJ if we wanted to catch some Zzzzs, all the above confirms the same.

No worries at our corner in Houx Annexe, some parties but all with respect for the neighbours.

Nor for us - which is why we don't sit on the Autoroute any more than we have to.

There's a lot more to France than Autoroutes you know, most of it very well and freshly tarmacked and empty...
