Whats with comments on the weather anyway. I arrived Friday eve at 9.00pm and the only rain I experienced was for the 30 mins at the start of the race.
Not sure where you were staying but it had been raining heavily on and off most of the week, hence Beausejour and even parts of Tet Rouge were flooded areas. The grass fields at Blue nord were also very soft and the tracks became rutted quickly. I arrived Tuesday and ended up putting up my tent in the rain.

Not been for few years but it definitely seemed busier than before IME. Arnage sat night certainly was. I had no problems with getting around though...took the bike. Its the way to do it! cycled past all the queues and saw a lot more of the race than previously.

rain was biblical on Monday night, also most of Tuesday, and the heavens opened during the pit signing on Tuesday evening, lots of rain on Wednesday,in fact most of the week.
It had obviously been very wet for weeks as the ground was sodden when we arrived on Monday
You were lucky arriving Friday when it started to fair up.

Hadn't realised. Yep...I certainly was fortunate then.

It felt very very quiet to me, spent the majority of the time on maison Blanche.

I would say the camp site was only at about 1/4 capacity to about 10'years ago, vast area of just grass, not marked up, so not sure if they were not for sale or just didn't sell

I didn't see any obnoxious behaviour what so ever, however it's just perhaps where I ventured

Very very few fireworks on Sunday day night

Very minimal noise on the road outside maison Blanche

Showering and stting didn't really have any queues

I perhaps thing it was the weather and more importantly the terror level threat

Two weeks before the race we had a month's rain in three hours and It didn't stop raining for the next 36 hours. In fact flooding has been widespread for the whole month. Motorways were closed for days and damages into the hundreds of millions. Sadly the problems were to be expected but for once the ACO seemed to cope
pretty well given the circumstances.

My first year but the more experienced hands I was with made no comment about it being quieter.

Tetre Rouge campsite looked stuffed to me but I did notice that plenty didn't appear to have left their pitch the whole weekend!

A small point but an annoying one - to me at least. Would people please note that it is TERTRE Rouge?

At least most Brits can pronounce Le Mans correctly unlike most Americans (who seemingly like spelling it as a single word too).

We can only pronounce Arnage and Mulsanne because of the Bentley motorcars of the same name.

Let's not even start with 'Hunaudieres'....

Still sounds wrong every time Radio Le Mans say 'sart' rather than 'sarth'. But then also sounds wrong when my French fluent friend talks about 'ran' rather than 'reems' as the main city in the Campagne region.

Bloody French, can't even pronouce their own place names correctly wink

I arrived late Friday evening and found a once quiet and empty sport at the end of Tertre Rouge site. Through the main entrance gate and turn right.

As for some not leaving all weekend...well some had good set ups with scaffolding etc that allowed them to watch the race without leaving the site.

And from my experience many don't go there for the race at all. I have know people miles out in Basejour and other sites who stay in their tents drink kin and partying all weekend. Don't get it personally

Fairly quite on Blue Nord apart from some French Techno till the early hours. Ear plugs meant it didn't spoil my sleep. We had two big groups with gennies next to us, but both where a great set and everyone had a good time.

Oh, I didn't mean the well set up guys with the scaffolding etc. I was envious of them! No, I mean people who were on the back wall like we were so wouldn't have been able to see anything.

What were you in btw? You would have passed us on the way to the loos/showers I guess. A Passat estate with roof box and a CC. You're talking about the end that had a couple of Skylines, 2 Daimler Darts in it etc?

Nothing too flash...My wives Grey RS Megane as i wanted to bring my bike. So I cycled in and out of the site a lot. (My car is a VX220 - I'm beyond driving that for long trips unless there's a track day involved!)

I parked/camped next to a Blue VX220 and a black Porsche. There was a Yellow Skyline over by the far fence at the end of the site. I was near that.
