So what is the dress code? Are shorts allowed?
You do see some people dressed up, BUT It's only suggested most people wear what they like.

At the last one, when nearly everyone else had gone to bed about 3am on the Saturday night, I took myself over to the Porsche Curves for a little while. It was damp, had gone a bit chilly, and there was a sort of mist hanging around too

And then a load of 300SLs & 356s came through, nearly all sideways on the wet surface, and it was just magical! Will be doing the same next weekend

It's my first time at the Classic too. The "Parade" in capital letters on the Friday night programme, is that at the circuit, rather than the Parade des Pilots in town that they hold for the race proper? I'm trying to work out what time to book my supper table in town, or whether to go into town at all that day if there's too much going on at the track. It's hard to satisfy my viewing habits as well as my stomach. Also concerned about dress code. I'm a middle-aged matron with sensible shorts so maybe OK. Please can someone advise about this "Parade" thing. Many thanks.

Can't help wrt the parades but as for the dress code, my interpretation of it is the ACO asks people not to dress as scruffy oiks. They can't say this, of course, so they suggest various styles and ideas. But really they're asking you not to wear a dayglo orange number with (forex) SUPERDRY plastered all over it. Or God forbid anything with SUBARU written on it. Stick to a nice, comfortable set of plain clothes and you'll be fine.

Its most important to bring plenty of beer and wine and offer it to the teams in the paddock. especially the Citroen in the pre war paddock hehe

My first time at Le Mans full stop too! I have never been to the 24hr as the Classic appealed to me a little more due to the relaxed nature of it. Massively excited about it, should be great fun!

I'm also popping my Le Mans classic cherry... 😁 Really looking forward to it, I've done Revival, FoS, Silverstone, Goodwood Members Meet... but never le Mans. Can't wait.

All tips welcome too smile
