I had a great time at Le mans 2016 thread
Discussion
Well my 10 year of going to le mans (classic and 24hour) and have to say we all loved it. Every one of our group of 7 really had a good time
For the first time we used TD at Porsche curves campsite and have to say after it was recommend from here that it was excellent and will be using the same camp site next trip.
No issues with bottle's as we are just outside the circuit.
We had been concerned about the distance to the village and getting to Le mans center but this was not a issue as walking to the village was a easy walk. and the free bus was very handy but only used it once. on thursday.
Campsite was great, and the food and drink was cheaper than I was expecting. Good people at the site and great toilet and shower facilities.
All in all we all had a great time

Not sure how to respond, this was my number 12 and I also loved it. But I always do, go with the right attitude. Have fun. Drink with the Dutch. Get the roof down wherever possible, great racing. Why wouldn't you love it?
This year we had 2 virgins and they booked off next year's Le Mans on the Friday, I think that says it all, they hadn't seen the cars on track and they'd already committed to next year.
See you all there next year!

Likewise. 14th in succession and brilliant as always notwithstanding a classic race in itself.
Happy 14th in succession!... same here.Addicted to the place, never once questioned whether I'd return the following year.
So far been treated to a great era of Le Mans history on track also.
Number 14 for me too and this year my Dad and I treated ourselves to a motorhome for a little bit of luxury on Houx. Had a great time as always and the really nice thing about going with my dad is that while the pace is a little slower, I feel I get more out of the experience as I'm not rushing around trying to take ten thousand photos of the catch fencing!
We brought some folding bikes with us too with the plan to get to Arnage for wednesday night qualifying. They were horrible to ride and I had a constantly deflating tyre and a binding brake on mine which made the whole thing akin to riding uphill through treacle. When we arrived at Arnage I realised that I'd lost my GA and Grandstand tickets! A frantic cycle back the way we came ensued and by some miracle I found my tickets in their holder by the side of the road, only a few hundred yards away from the Arnage roundabout!! They must have fallen off shortly after my last puncture repair stop!
The effort of cycling was worth it though as Arnage is a spectacular place to view from. During the race we left the bikes behind and got the bus instead!! Next year we are bringing proper bikes and a slightly bigger motorhome!

34th trip. Every time I say it will be the last and I always end up making the pilgrimage. Had a brilliant Le Mans this year.
Here's a pic I took from the mid 1980's before you had to stare through a catchment fence...
Wonderful. Was 9/10 in the mid 80s. Wish I could have been there then. Here's a pic I took from the mid 1980's before you had to stare through a catchment fence...
Can still get pure views with a bit of effort though

However, I CAN identify and locate the Guinness bar from any location inside the circuit whilst blindfolded...
That's easy though. It's the noise place full of oiks disturbing your enjoyment of a bottle of Champagne a tent-away.Anyone else still pining the loss of the Grand Marnier Crap stand or just me?

I preferred their crepes to their craps but the loss of that stall might just be the worst thing about Le Mans 2015/16. There was a stall down by the back of the pits/TV compound selling Grand Marnier crepes this year but they weren't quite the same. 24lemons said:

Though on Saturday evening we leave the circuit and go get a proper meal at a village about 15-20 mins away. Had one for dessert to make up for it :-)
