What happened during the night-time grid 5 race?

I was standing on the banking at Arnage when it was red flagged, but no idea what happened. Anyone know? The extraction car and ambulance went past which was a worrying sign. I saw on Twitter that two LOLAs collided. Anyone have any more info?

From what I remember it was a Porsche 906 or 910 that crashed. They said the driver had been removed but didn't hear anything else after that.

Having been under the pace car for so long, as both the Lola's accelerated away from Arnage, bringing a new meaning to nose to tail we said to ourselves quite prophetically as it turns out that they were an accident waiting to happen.

Incidentally quite impressed with the new Arnage / Indianapolis tribune even if it has lost a bit of its old atmosphere.

I was told by one of the plateau 1 drivers that the big accident involved a lola, that flipped over and the driver had to be taken to hospital, but they were told later he had been released
