I have paid for this for my first visit to FOS and assume it gets me closer to the event and less chance of prangs? We have a little one so closer to the event the better. Any draw backs?

A bit late now as you've paid I think the general consensus is it's a waste of money. It can end up very dusty as I'm sure someone will be along to post a photo soon.

Watch out for the front of your car when you drive on to the metal trackway, I caught the front of mine and took a nick out of the car. I did not find it to dusty and is closer if you are arriving slightly later.

I've used performance car parking in the past 2 years - one dry and one wet. It's well worthwhile if you have a really nice motor and gets you right to the entrance. Yes, it's a "waste of money", just like the flash car you turned up in. wink If you can, you should.

You're going to feel a bit of a nob turning up in the performance section in a Toyota Auris wink

I took my E36 M3 this year since they allowed any BMW "M" cars in given the theme.

Its a lot closer to park - not quite the hike from the public car parks, so ideal for you to leave something in the car knowing its not too far to come back to.

I agree that you need to be very careful when you get onto the metal path since the car can catch and scrape or worse.

To be honest all of the car parks are dusty or muddy depending on the weather - that's just part of the FOS.

Is it a waste of money - its not cheap but for the 3 motoring events Goodwood holds its hardly expensive and having done it, when baby number 1 arrives in April I would be looking to use the performance parking again, if they allow any of my wrecks in, since leaving stuff in the car not too far away from the event is very attractive to me.

If you are taking a Supercar then yes it's safer there and worth it although the metal ramps are tricky

The crowds are getting worse in my view so last year I took my daily car instea as it was a lot less to worry about

Just make sure you go the right way to the Performance parking! We ended up getting sent through the main parking field which was like a swamp.. 100% sure we had the dirtiest car there hehe
