Now that Brooklands has declared is NYD gathering will be for pre-''87 cars only ( space limitations due to restoration work ) can anyone reccomend another good show to attend instead? Cheers.

I haven't seen anything about it but usually there is a New Year's Day gathering of cars at the Phoenix Inn in Hartley Wintley. http://www.phoenixinn.co.uk/
Car's of all types park up and down the road. And of course it's free.

Brooklands New Year day meeting is not limited to pre 87, just the Campbell Gate access:

Everybody – whether you’re driving a “Classic” or not – is welcome to the largest New Year’s Day Classic Gathering in the UK.

It's going to be pre 1987 on the museum site and all other parking in the heights car park which adjoins the museum so it will likely to be easier for everyone in marked parking spaces and repeat all welcome.

Yeah I've been to this a few years. It's not advertised much but great turn out and variety of cars.

Brooklands was a bit over subscribed this year.

Not sure what I'll be doing.

Likewise, I have been going to this for many years. Quite a range of cars come and go. It's not huge, but if the weather is dry it gets a good turn out, plus there's a nice friendly atmosphere, with the pub normally doing food and coffee. Parking gets tricky with cars parking in what is effectively the middle of the road, so I recommend getting there early (10ish) depending on the festivities of the night before...

If the weather is as warm tomorrow as today then I'll probably do Brooklands but not going to attempt taking the 1997 car in,I'll go straight to visitors parking.
