Don't forget the PH organised events which last year included a pitstop on the way to LM although you may have to use the autoroute to do this if it happens in '17. There are some great roads from Caen if you want to avoid the tolls & much more relaxed with no queuing at the peages as well (plus plentiful places to stop for coffee or beer for the passengers

)If you are there on the Thursday make sure you get to the circuit for qualifying if its not wet. There can be some superb action at dusk when the circuits at its fastest. Also the grandstands are free and its a chance to recce for future visits...because you will go again...and again...and again

Thanks for the tip about The Great British Welcome at St Saturnin - Friday is already looking full with this, the opportunity to walk up and down the pit lane and potentially the Drivers Parade. Are you saying you can drive up the Mulsanne on the Friday i.e. drive part of the circuit?
If you want to have a run up and down the Mulsanne on Friday I'd do it fairly early in the morning, say before 11, it can get a bit messy down by the Chinese by lunchtime as the Stella kicks in, the traffic gets held up and congested. The gendarmes have been known to step in, sometimes closing the road for a while.

Agree, I'd advise taking a run up Mulsanne between 9 and 10 and no later as I've seen it get busy after that! also you'll probably find the only areas you can drive are Porsche curves down to Arnage then have to drive around to Mulsanne corner the long was as they don't allow cars from Arnage to Mulsanne corner via Indy. then from Mulsanna up to Tetre rouge excluding the chicanes as they are fenced off and plod will move you swiftly on.If you want to drive on the track then earlier the week the better.
My favourite bit used to be Indianapolis, you even got to take some kerbs but that was closed off last year due to some event.
As said above, try to have your car off the road before lunch back at your tent or be prepared to face the mad Friday crowd.

Or if you're staying till Monday, then Monday morning is a good time to drive the public sections of the circuit.My favourite bit used to be Indianapolis, you even got to take some kerbs but that was closed off last year due to some event.
