Just thinking about sorting out some money for Lemans, should we take Cash or just pay for everything with Cards?

I guess all the Tolls will require cash but for everything else are cards ok??

I would imagine most of the food stalls and such at the track would be cash. Cards for carrefour etc. But I hav'nt been before so I could be wrong.

Ignore this post until someone clever comes along!

Food/beer stalls were cash - we paid for tolls and most other things with cards last year. Speeding fines are cash

Many supermarkets on the continent don't take credit cards so be careful. Conversely most motorway toll booths will take cards. I should think everything at the track will be cash.

I don't recall seeing any ATMs around the circuit so I guess you'd have to go into the town centre to get cash out. Does anyone know if the empty out quickly over the race weekend?

Reading from Autosport this morning....

"Cashpoints are non-existent inside the circuit and there aren't any within walking distance of the gates either. You're guaranteed to want to eat at some stage and most food outlets won't take anything other than cash. A trip to town will be long and irratating so stock up on banknotes before you come. And keep some in reserve for souvenirs"

There is a cashpoint hidden behind the concrete toilets just past the Champers Bar, it still had money in it last year on Saturday at about Midday!!

Use Cards on the Tolls as normally you can get through quicker than cash !! On the bigger Tolls the Credit card lane share the Fast track trasponder lanes.

Cash every time, and no need for cards on tolls if you take the scenic route either

Don't even think of driving out of the camp site for cash from Friday afternoon onwards...

Might also be worth keeping at least €90 in reserve for the lowest level of speeding fine...

Although they will escort you to the nearest cash point and let you have your passport back when you hand over the Euros.

Watch out as the Toll booths won't take Switch/Maestro or Solo

Lots of cash machines about in Arnage and Le Mans but you need to check on your banks charging policy for using cards. Eg Barclays charge a fee for all card use except if you use the Banque National de Paris (BNP) machines!
