Without doubt this year was the best one in the 15 I’ve been to, however………

Whilst making my way back from Arnage on Friday back towards the main car parks there was a large gathering of super soakered up types. Nothing wrong with that as frankly the water was a bloody great blessing except a group of Danes had elected to put something other than water in their guns.

Suffice to say I now have what I can only describe as something pretty close to paint sprayed over the interior and simply will not come of the seats. I didn’t really clock it at the time being rather hot and bothered an generally in need of a pint but right about now I feel as though I should have beaten the seven bells of S:censored:t out of the git.

I did notice a guy in an E Type getting really wound up after the interior of his own car got splattered particularly as it was absolutely concourse and not really the right car to pick on and I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him as he came in for a real load of verbal for daring to suggest that it was a bit out of order. General lack of respect for a really nice bit of kit in my opinion.

So then, super soakers yes or no? Or should I go on a one man war with Denmark?

Supersoakers yes,

That head should be shot however.

It stops people bringing out their nice cars so everyone can see them. It only takes one to ruin it for everyone else. Not even mildly funny, just some idiot with a chip on his shoulder.

Wage war, buddy. Wage war.

And I hope the car comes clean.

Squirted from a distance may be amusing and possibly refreshing but some may have taken things a little to far.

People with cars of value will be driven away from those who wish to see them if water, fireworks and flares are thrown at them.

Its fair enough squirting people, but trying to damage the interiors of strangers cars isn't really on. Its been happening since I've been going though, so its just a case of knowing where not to go, and when to put the windows up!

One of the classic moments for me was at the Houx Annex roundabout on Friday. A young lad was with his dad and a huge supersoaker. His dad had set groundrules as to what he could squirt - the lad got a little excited and went to squirt a classic Jaguar - cue his dad saying 'No... have some respect' - before letting him fill a froggy car full of the lake's finest!

If you are on PH email me - I have a few good pics!

lorry driver on the houx roudabout on friday had sense of humour failure about the water - he got out and set after the miscreant to him. Didn't catch em though got back in a drove off. Lucky escape!

Have to say though spraying the screen of a 38tonner on a small roundabout covered in screaming drunks isn't particularly smart!

Trust me if you knew the history that every single one of the guys in that picture has with Bennno you'd find it funny, it might be worth noting that 30 seconds later after he had parked the M5 up he came back joined us and joined in the fun, yes we gave a lot of people a light squirting in a light hearted jovial way, we were selective as to who and how much got and I can honestly say nobody got as much as Bennno. After all 2 years ago the driver of the M5 in that picture was responsible for soaking a french driver who got out and kicked off big style.....

Oh yes and for the record I'm the one in the picture un loading the full shot on him. But then again if you look at the pictures of Flashers wedding you'll find most of the guilty in that picture stood next to the Driver as part of the bridal party !!!!!!!!!!

In summary don't go gobbing off and making assumptions if you don't know the whole story !!!

We were in the blue car cark and along with the v8 esprit,m3 & integrale we had our vito suport van we used to get around in, on the way to the supermarket we got soaked by the super soakers by the noisy crouts!
So the brits took the liberty of picking up 12 eggs and on our way back in sprung an ambush out of the van side doors and launched the eggs at the fellas, nearly every egg was a direct body hit!!

35 Degrees with egg onya face!!

Moral of the story...Dont mess with the brits withya plastic guns!!

You can't blame the guy for tarring you with the same brush. Think how it looks from the other perspective. And not everyone who got pissed off with it would show it to your faces and give you the satisfaction (if that had been your intention - which presumably it wasn't, in this case.)

The volume of water those things put out, especially at close range can do some serious damage to a car's interior. If someone had done it to me car, I would not have been amused.

It will keep people away who are protective of their cars, rightly or wrongly, and I would say 95% of the people are there to see the cars, so if none of the decent ones come, you just end up with the silk cut Volvo estates, which although funny, are not exactly Paganis and Lambos.

They're alright in my book - harmless fun (although when filled with harmless water of course!)

First time I took my car (S2000) to Le Mans it was 1 week old, and got a squirting many times, but it was all fun. I even put the roof on to drive past someone with a hosepipe getting all the convertibles and when I drove near - he opened the door and threw in a bucket of water! Some might have got miffed, but I figured it didn't anything that would get damaged and would dry in 30 seconds in that heat anyway.

Mind you I did get p*ssed off with someone squirting a continual stream of water into the CD player whilst stopped in traffic. My reaction was natural and as one would expect...

This year I got done at Arnage villagw which was quite funny: driving through slowly, bloke walks out in front of the car, hobbling. Just as I think "this isn't right", 5 of his mates jump up with squirters and get me! Fortunately my passenger was prepared with her own gun and the S2000 is rather good for leaving a 10 foot trail of rubber in an instant!

Having been soaked by the some guys in Beausejour campsite, we decided to take revenge and loaded the Discovery (Uberpfaff support vehicle) with water pistols. Caught them off guard and drenched them - think they must have been heading out somewhere as they were actually dressed (for a change).

Wife and co pilot decided it would be a good idea to spray people on the way home - coming out of Beausejour (with small water pistols mind you) - no issues from anyone (I think they were relieved for the cold water). Just as they thought their antics were over, two of the guys they had just soaked emptied the best part of a litre of water in the car - revenge is sweet!! All good natured fun! As for putting something else in the pistols apart from water - well, you would have to be stupid!

We found a good solution for those who were using pathetic little water guns by going one better. We had a bucket which we were using to keep the beers cold, so one night we filled it with water and everytime we were squirted with water, we simply flung all the water in the bucket at the unsuspecting shooter! It works a trat, but I will be borrowing a water gun for next year!!

Well having just read Rob's post about the damage to his car I think the supersoaker thing has got out of hand. I hope the perps try it again on the wrong person some time and get a trip to A&E.

Having now administered a bucket and sponge to the post Le Mans 993 it seems that under all the dust and other detritus whatever this substance was has also attached itself to the rear wheel arch as well.

I really can not work out what it is as it was shot out of a super soaker but has stuck like turd to a blanket and is certainly paint like in the way it has stuck on.

So all in all I’m pretty angry about it as I think to remove it will also remove the lacquer etc. As for the interior most of damage is on the passenger seat back and the panel on the passenger door which although tedious could be sorted out by somebody like southbound trimmers

Dazren, I don’t know if you know my old mucker over on the Porsche forum '993 RSR' but when it comes to laying my hands on some bricks I’m sure he would testify, a 100,000 by tomorrow could be done Now all we need is a Hercules to drop them on bloody Denmark

So all in all although not hugely noticeable I think I could be looking at £500 to get her back to how she was before that berk decided to have a go.
