Favour to ask - did anyone get any pics of the Merc mcLaren SLR in Beausejour over the weekend (Saturday at about 1530? The gimp in the passenger seat is me, but as I was in such a rush to get ot the start line (which I did with seconds to spare), I never got the photos I wanted - all I have is video fromthe inside of people taking photos of the outside! Doh

I took a couple. I'll send them to you when I get them off my mate's camera.

There was one at Chartre Sur Loir on Friday evening. Took ages being parked in the town square car park then couldn't open the doors to get out and had to move it

It was Derek Bell doing the parking !!

Do you mean Chateau du Loir?

There was a car show there Friday night and I saw a black Merc SLR drive thru town but didn't appear to stop at the show.

No, LA CHARTRE-SUR-LE-LOIR. Hang a left just South of Chateau du Loir and go East for 5-6 miles. There's a hotel in the aquare called the Hotel de France where teams used to stay, and work on the race cars outside. The bar is full of Le Mans memorabilia and is very busy on the Friday before the race. There's usually a well known former driver or 2 down there.

No, it was black - and it was being driven by Derek Bells brother in law. Long story about how I managed to get into the scene, but worth it for the mile and a half I was in it!!

That's the one that turned up in La Chartre Sur Le Loir on Friday. Not sure why but Derek ended up parking it for him.

The story goes that the owner gave his keys to Derek Bell, saying "there you go, you can park it - you can drive can't you??" Obviously struggled!! He was a really decent bloke, proud of his car, but very much down to earth!!

Sorry to chase this - but does anyone have this photo or am I going to have to try to convince by using the video of the INSIDE of the car?
