Groups at 2006 le mans
Discussion
I have been looking into booking with companys/groups such as Team Langoustine, Beermountain etc.. as our group who have not been before may only be about 3-5 people. So we where thinking it would be nice to get their an dtalk with others.
Has anyone here has experance with the groups I have mentioned and are they any good? is their a Pistonheads Le mans group and if so where do u camp?
cheers

I bought my tickets and campsite passes from this year. All arrived in plenty of time and at reasonable prices.
So, all in all
I just talked to Andy at Team Langoustine about booking with them next year. Sounded like a nice chap.
What did you book (camp site and did you get grandstand tickets)? just wondering what my be best.
Hi Remal
I'm a girl and I can see why you'd want toilets but am not sure why you might need a wash basin!!!
We camped on Houx in 2005 and the showers and toilets in the section of the site nearest to the village were very good. There was very little queuing and the facilities were cleaned reguarly. Granted they were a little smelly at times but that's camping!
This year we were on Maison Blanche and the toilets and showers that they put in were very good, the ladies loos were adaquete for the numbers but there were always queues for the mens toilets. Having said that if you guys take 10 minutes to have a dump what do you expect!
I've not camped on Houx Annexe so can't comment on that other than I think it's probably quite similar to MB, it'll be loud and will have people on it that you wouldn't normally chose to be in close proximity to!!
The atmosphere on the campsites is, for me, what makes Le Mans. If you don't think you'll like it then book yourself in at one of the off site camp sites that are around the area. I understand that these are much more civilised!!
Above all, go and enjoy yourself!

I take exception to that, Miss Piggy!
No offence meant 'milly - that was just the people that I was camping with!!! LOL!!!!
Houx Annexe is fine as long as you get there no later than Thursday lunch time. Didnt go this year bit last time, there was a couple of portacabins with loos and showers and the guy and his Mrs Looking after them did a a great job, loads of hot water and fairly clean loos.
Just one tip, wherever you camp, it will be noisy, but avoid pitching anywhere near any sort of white van, they occupants are normally completely demented and have large stero's systems that play C**p all night.

The next problem we have is our tigers have no place to store vauables. We have no roofs or windscreens. Any tips on keeping out bits safe. Or do we have to just keep them on us
cheers so far for the info
I think I will book up soon for next year. Is their any PH area's that people meet p or is it just if you see the t-shirts/stickers say hi

I'd take as little with you in the way of valuables as you can and if you have nowhere "safe" to keep them, keep them on you at all times and be particuarly careful with your rucksack when you are pi&&ed!!!
If you plan to book through the ACO you need to get your booking in ASAP, you are probably already too late to get an allocation of tickets for MB, and I'd imagine H/HA as well.
Enjoy!

Went with the guys last year as a group of 5 first timers, and can safely say we'll be returning with them this year.
Great bunch of guys, always willing to help. It doesn't even matter that tried to blow us up with a misdirected firework... If you look on the gallery on their site, we were standing next to the tent you can see on the second page of photos - what can I say, yacht race maroons are pretty damn loudat 5 ft!!!
As far as valuables go, there's always someone from the team about at their marquee (usually watching something lewd projected on the wall) so it's not as bad as going on your own. Other benefits include their fridge/freezer and gaming facilities!!!
Can't stress how much it takes the hastle out of the process by going with an organiser..
P.S. If you're looking for a quiet campsite (for a start what are you doing at lemans??) the houx annexe really isn't the one for you.. the friday night drifting session around the nearby roundabout being one of the quiet leisure activities available..

We went with Langoustine... apart from the firework it was well organised.. ..going again with them next year (2006)
Campsite is ok..has proper toilet and shower blocks.. just get there ealry enough to grab yourself a decent pitch.. the langoustine chaps try and fence and area off for all of us but boundaries tend to become 'confused' by late Thursday when people camp anywhere they can...
