For the last 25+ years I have always been able to get tickets for Dunlop (now Goodyear) or Panorama. Sadly I couldn't get any Grandstand for last year so resorted to a picnic stool to stand on - not my idea of fun as I'm 75. I shall attempt Goodyear or Panorama again for next year but wondered if anyone has experience of No 10 Siko or No 11 Wimille in case I have to look further afield. I'd prefer to be able to see the Dunlop curves.
I confess I've never heard of Siko and I can't see any T10 on the grandstands map. Did you mean T13 Singher?

Yes, I see it now, basically the first grandstand at pit out. I was looking at the 2022 plan, so it's clearly an addition. I'm hopeful of trying to get two tickets for T17 in 2024, as it's probably the last year i'll be able to afford to go for a few years. I've never seen them for sale though, so i'm unsure how to even go about getting a pair? I've been a member for a couple of years now, but that doesn't seem to give me any additional choices, just sooner than the general populous.

You do have to logged on and ready to go for ticket opening. This will see out fast. I'm hopeful of trying to get two tickets for T17 in 2024, as it's probably the last year i'll be able to afford to go for a few years. As LM240 said, you'll have to be ready and waiting as ticketing opens. Only members can book tickets for T17 and T18, the 'general populous' can't.... Sorry for the double post, I'm not quite sure how that happened.
I am already a member, and I was right in there early at the queue this year, but still didn't see T17 as an option. Are you chaps saying you have seen it but it sold out faster than T15 which was the one i ended up booking. I didnt even see T17 as a greyed out option

I was in early (logging in the minute sales opened and booking as fast as their IT system let me in) and got T17. I don’t know how fast it sold out though. Booked morning off work to concentrate on ticket purchase this year. Airbnb already booked which is big comfort having accommodation sorted.
Is a grand stand recommended for Le Mans? Can anyone recommend one to a first timer at Le Mans. T4 and T5 look good. What do you think? Also, do you receive a specific seat in a grandstand or can you sit anywhere in the grandstand?

I'd say for your first time, you're going to want to spend time seeing everything, and taking in the action from different parts of the track. The stands are usually full only for two times, the start and end of the race. So it all comes down to what price you put on that access. Personally, I like to have the option, but the vast majority of people who go don't bother.
Your ticket is for a nominated seat, and it will only let you into the stand your ticket is for. If you're attending the whole week, grandstands are open Tuesday to Thursday, to everyone with an entry ticket irrespective of it including grandstands or not, so you can always try one out and see how much you use them.

Very helpful, thanks. I've read that they are good insurance against the weather. If it's too hot, you can hopefully get shade in a grandstand. Similarly if it is raining, you are covered. I seem to recall you can pick your seat. I certainly agree with the weather insurance, this is the primary reason I book one myself. Plus its nice to not have to carry a folding chair. That said, I do bring my moon chair on Saturday so I can sleep next to the track overnight. The stands are OK, but the legroom is a bit tight, and they are only flimsy plastic fold up seats like you get at a 2nd tier football stadium. For longer seating times the folding chair with integrated headrest is significantly more comfortable.

Good to know, thanks. If I do go for a grandstand I can't imagine i'll be there more than a few hours at a time. Hopefully my legs can cope with that... Slightly off topic, but I noticed you mentioned parking in one of your previous posts. Is it easy to get a parking ticket for race weekend or do they sell out very quickly? I'm not too fussy about which specific car park (I've heard good things about expo/panorama).
