Travelling on the Wednesday!
Discussion
Just thinking about next years travel, how many people travel down to lemans on the Wednesday?
Last year we went on the Thursday and it was brilliant with all the Ferrari's, Lambo's, Porsches etc passing, Would Wednesday be pretty much the same?
How many of you lot are travelling on the Wednesday and where from?
Thanks
Tom

I did the same last year and the exotica was good (although I hear it is better on Thursday) but it just depends on what is around at the time. There will always be awesome sights around during that week en route to Le Mans - no worries!
The best sight last year was a Ferrari 328 hammering past us in torrential rain with the roof off! You see all kinds of things

Sounds good, I guess I'll find out in 225 (ish) days time!
Thursday was good this year, but judging by the number of cars there already when we arrived I guess Wednesday must be good too!!
Hopefully our journey won't clash with the footy!
Nope don't want to miss the footy. I have to say that in Houx there was a lot of awesome exotica which arrived on Thursday afternoon/evening - that seemed to be the main time for exciting motors to arrive!
However there were plenty of nice motors around when we pulled in on Wednesday evening as well! The F40 in the Carrefour supermarket underground car park was something else

We did Wednesday last year and found it very quiet, took an early SeaCat crossing and we had the only obvious cars off to Le Mans.
Took the back roads, so didn't see much other than a Ferrari all day long. Houx was about 30% occupied I'd say, and it gave you a great chance to get around before the crowds all arrived.
Next year we're leaving mid Wednesday, driving half way and staying overnight before an early departure Thursday morning for the final stretch.

We were going to do the same but as we're on the early ferry so may do it all in one go get a decent pitch and get drunk!

g;ad to hear that. We are going to leave on the Sunday and stay in a hotel before the monday ferry.
We did that this year. Stayed in the Holiday Inn about 10mins from the tunnel terminal in Calais on the Sunday night. Good food, shower and a proper bed was beautiful. €90 per room this year. Off at 8am, fresh for the drive home. Will be doing the same next year.
