glad to hear your well chum.
I saw you getting taken out the car by the firemen/paramedics, with a few of the other guys on here, well, I say saw, I lost my chums and thought they where up near the ambulance etc (couldnt see what was going on at first) then saw it was an accident i got off, im a bit squirmish of these things and wanted to get away asap.
i dont think any of our crowd had a camera on them, and also they wouldnt be so sick as to take pics. . . . . . for obvious reasons

No, not an electric reverse. We married the 6 speed sequential to the Beetle box, put in a bomb proof 4th gear. So no chain drive. But....... 6 speed forward and reverse! Gearing too high for fun though.Oh and 2 gear sticks because 1 is for (an electric?) reverse? I've got a similar arrangement!

seriously though, was shocked to hear of this accident when i was there, especially as it was my first year and we had walked up and down this stretch a fair few times during the week. glad you're ok and you have sorted a shiny new motor!

Also, someone mentioned Audi Pit Crew and Medics on the scene. It might be worth following up that lead for witnesses if you seriously wanted to take it further with the French authorities.

Thought my car fire Le Mans 04 and Schredded Gearbox Le Mans 03 were bad enough! But I think you have well and truley out done me! 
Glad to hear you're on the mend (both mentally and physically). From the other accounts it does sound very suspect and would be great to get the issue resolved.

I remember seeing you guys going "up" the road to Houx like a stabbed rat, but we were walking away and didn't see the actual "BANG" when it happened. By the time everyone had realised what had happened there was a hell of a lot of people at the scene helping you it seems!
I have flipped through my pictures, but i don't have anything of use for you!

Very glad to hear you're OK - the damage to yourself and the wallet are significant but compared with coming home to your family in a box... well, I know what I'd prefer...
Although I had my camera to hand I was reluctant to take pictures and be labelled a sicko, for the same reason we didn't hang around as there were plenty of other people around and didn't want to add to the crowd. I knew I should've taken copious pics for legal reasons.
