I'd thought exactly the same thing. Can you imagine a French wedding without wine? I'm convinced it's all dodgy. Still, when you survive something like this, just being able to walk again is a bonus, the rest is just money! and that you are alive. As I said in the original thread the Picasso had white

g the French off in general. The hospital was fantastic. If you're gonna have a r.t.a, have it next to a major race circuit.So so glad to hear your ok or at least on the mend mate i was there with my brother it was a truly horrific accident and we all had a feeling of absolute helplessness amongst us and others around .We only heard the crash and did not see it happen but i definatly heard a skid before the impact what people were suprised at was how long it took to extract you from your car which i guess gave people the idea you had'nt survived If i remember rightly there was an audi pit crew with a doctor who got too you first and administered first aid

Seriously though, really pleased to hear you made it, i started that thread back in 06 thinking you were a gonna, hope you get back to full health and join us back in Le Mans next year

Great news that you made it OK Stephen and, now that you have found a shed load of independent eye witnesses, can you not go back and stuff it up those concerned?

That's what I was thinking. The whole affair stinks big time by the sounds of it -why would the other party have blatantly lied about who was driving if they where in the clear? If it were me, I'd kick up a lot of fuss, but then I'm not so good at suffering/witnessing injustice.

You know this is all a bit surreal. I would love to prove that I've been stitched up. I've turned down a big personal injury claim to protect my mate, lost my car and 7 months off work. Not to mention more time off when I get a hip replacement & possibly 5-10 grands worth of dentistry. Then there is the stress my wife and family suffered. What do you do when you get a phone call from France saying your husband will be dead in 3 hours? If anyone has any other contacts who were there & if anyone would honestly be prepared to be a witness I would be eternally gratefull. I won't conact my insurer yet, but will see what else might crop up.

I saw you getting taken out the car by the firemen/paramedics, with a few of the other guys on here, well, I say saw, I lost my chums and thought they where up near the ambulance etc (couldnt see what was going on at first) then saw it was an accident i got off, im a bit squirmish of these things and wanted to get away asap.
i dont think any of our crowd had a camera on them, and also they wouldnt be so sick as to take pics. . . . . . for obvious reasons

No, not an electric reverse. We married the 6 speed sequential to the Beetle box, put in a bomb proof 4th gear. So no chain drive. But....... 6 speed forward and reverse! Gearing too high for fun though.Oh and 2 gear sticks because 1 is for (an electric?) reverse? I've got a similar arrangement!
Enjoy LeMans and look out for cars exiting from the right!
