Buying a car is exactly the same as buying a house:
.
I disagree.- Buying with 100% your own cash (no debt) = full ownership;
- Buying with debt (loan) = partial ownership;
- Ballooning = renting to buy;
- Leasing = renting only.
.
I've worked with many a motor finance company including some niche companies. The majority of high performance / expensive cars are leased. Footballers etc all tend to lease. Why would you buy a £200k+ car and take that huge depreciation hit?
The rich are rich for a reason.

Thanks for the reply Simon.
One of the brokers did say he was particularly embarrassed by it!
Also mentioned something about BMW pulling what discount they had.
Can't quite believe I can lease an M5 for less, but it's just a bit too big unfortunately.

You are taking the depreciation hit anyway....there's no free lunch with leasing.I've worked with many a motor finance company including some niche companies. How cheap?
Also interested ... As of last night, we were way cheaper but now there's a couple similar / cheaper. Although it depends on whether you want to pay a doc fee or not...
There seem to be quite a few decent deals on the Golf GTD at the moment - here's a 5dr 6+23 for £249.99 pcm

I'd love an S6 but there doesn't ever seem to be any good deals on high performance petrol Audis
There was a stonking deal on an S5 a while ago.I currently drive a C7 A6 (my first foray into sensible family motoring), but given I get a car allowance with my new job I can 'upgrade' to a C7 that's a lot more spicier.

Just did a contract hire deal on a 640d M sport Gran Coupe they'd added some extras (stock car) so came out at just shy of 80k list.
3+35 £666 inc VAT on 15k per year.
I think that's pretty good the support must be huge on these.

hahahahahaI think that's pretty good...
Do you?
They will be at £399 before long.
Allow 10p per mile for the mileage, switch the deposit to 6 instead of 3, and take off the VAT and it's a headline figure of £474 + VAT.
Depending on what the extras are, that could be below £399 + VAT etc.

This is with a small deposit, a slightly higher mileage and a comedy amount of extras though.

Indeed, looking at the low deposit the mileage and spec (8.5k worth of extras) it's pretty good, the extras are:Allow 10p per mile for the mileage, switch the deposit to 6 instead of 3, and take off the VAT and it's a headline figure of £474 + VAT.

I would have to go 640i myself though, if you're only doing 15k miles a year and spending £666 a month on the car, what does another £10 a week in fuel matter?
Take a 640i out properly before you decide, it is a stonker.
