Hi everyone,

Been keeping an eye on this thread for a while and seen some great offers. Currently looking for some advice plus offers if you guys can help.

I currently have 2008 Audi A6 2.7 TDI Le mans. Great car but mileage is getting high and I fancy a change to be honest.
Considering looking at leasing, I am self employed but would do it personally. Here is some requirements;

Reasonable initial payment (Sub 1k)
Mileage between 15-20k per year.
Sub £300 per month
Maybe the maintenance but not a deal breaker.

Looking along the lines of Audi, BMW, Mercedes and so on. Would prefer something a little bigger like a 5 series, A5/6 but would consider smaller. Seen some good deals on CLA and 3/4 series.

Must have some power as I do a few miles and driving something slow would annoy me. Lets say 180+ BHP.
This looks OK:

Does anyone know how proof of insurance works with Lease Plan Go?

My new car's due here on Wednesday and as part of the contract i should provide proof of comprehensive cover. So far, so fair.

Who do i provide it to? Delivery driver or do i send it off to LPG?

I'm guessing some other folks on this thread have already been through this but if not they're open again in the morning and i can give them a bell, i've just missed them tonight.

So.......it is over twice your budget on initial payment, you need to do over 100% more mileage wise, doesn't include maintenance and is over your £300 a month maximum??

Looks like you've nailed it. wink

You have to email proof of insurance to LPG prior to delivery.

A couple of questions for the seasoned PCH guys and girls on here if you can help?

1)My cooling off period ends in just over a week. Do I receive the delivery date after that as advised by G2L? Or should I expect to have this by now?

2)Is it worth having a new car detail carried out by a professional, rather than letting the dealer near the car? I'm thinking of protecting the paint for the return in two years. Or is it better value to have it detailed prior to the return?

3)I've only ever purchased used cars. So any tips to avoid trouble when the car is delivered? I'm sure the chap will be in a rush to go. I was going to check for scratches and dents, check the oil level etc to make sure it's not been overfilled, or underfilled. Does anyone have a check list that they have used?

I know it seems a bunch of daft questions, but I'd rather ask and check that I haven't missed anything.

I'm rather excited for the little ST turning up. Never had a hot hatch. I'm a little late to the party.

Thanks in advance.
1) I would expect you to have this by now. The cooling off period is just for the finance company (guessing it's Leaseplan) covering themselves. Dealer should be able to sort delivery for that day.

2) Personally, wouldn't care. It's ultimately not my car, no worry of resale. The lease company can't charge you if the paint is swirly from poor cleaning.

3) Make sure any optional extra's are there, and all bodywork is fine. Apart from that, never really spent too much time looking around it, but that's just me.
Thanks for the reply. Makes sense. No it is the other one mentioned on here quite a bit. I replied to an e-mail last week asking about the the dealer so I knew where it was coming from. No reply. I called today so I could see what date the car is coming and was told a call back would follow from their admin department. Not great communication if I'm honest.

I wasn't sure if swirlies came into upon return I'll mitigate with my cleaning methods.

I took an old car the other day for a £10 inside and out wash and it's amazing that they made a 12 year old 200000 mile car look worse.

Vehicle Savers have the save deal but for the Premium Plus spec level which includes nav, panoramic sunroof etc. I'm very tempted on this one... Only thing putting me off the the engine which is apparently a bit rough.
I wish i hade the kahunas to flog my car and use the equity to get something like this, i probably have about 4 years worth of top notch car lease payments tied up in the Vrs.
am i correctly understanding that you believe you have 4 years worth of lease payments as equity in your current car? Also when you say VRS is this a Skoda?
Yes I probably have about 14k tied up in my car.
wow, how have you managed that? What VRS is it?

If you're looking at M-B it's worth price checking with M-B direct. The rate and terms will likely be the same but you won't pay the broker fees.

Blimey, that's almost getting up the level of the models MB sells as base spec in the US.

Yes, everyone basically has the same prices on MB unless there's specials floating about.

I went for the Fiesta Zetec S "red special edition" for my partner.

http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/292678/ford_fies...

Looks cracking value for money on a 9+23 at £116.21 per month. She will be chuffed with that smile

That is good and if I hadn't of ordered the ST this would have closed the gap. Seems close. Isn't the old Zetec S 125PS?
