I spoke to one chap after our PM and spoke to an older chap who didn't seem that interested in a potential sale at all, if im brutally honest. I told him I had seen the prices you displayed and he pretty abruptly corrected me to £263.99 for the 420d GC.. I didn't argue and just said send me a quote.

in the mean time without realising my dad had already called them and spoke to Neal himself who was very helpful, and provided quotation for the 20d auto and manual as diaplayed by Contigo a few pages back.. it looks like his college had given me the rates for the auto (and didn't bother looking into, or mentioning the manual which was cheaper, and the rate I said I saw!!)

so, my quotation is currently pending and it looks like il be speccing the car tomorrow.

nice work Phil, thanks again...will keep all posted how we get on.

Excellent Irfan, Neal is nothing but very helpful and sorted me out on my car. Let us know how you get on. Those GC deals look bloody good to me, I assume that the residuals on the 4 series GC diesels and Manuals are going to be pretty strong hence the reductions.

The 1 and 4 series deals are based on a batch commitment. Once this number has been achieved the deal will end. Looking at the interest and enquiry levels already my guess is the 1 Series deal won't last more than a week. The 4 Series is more under the radar and at present so may well run for a bit longer but at those prices I wouldn't hang around.

Question for Contigo I guess... as someone totally new to leasing, but who is going to lease car for the first time soon... if I were to go for one of those 1 series deals, when would the initial payment need paying, and when would delivery most likely be?

I have just leased for the first time and take receipt of the vehicle in 2 weeks - Focus Titanium Navigator including appearance pack on a 6 + 23 at £173pm fully maintained with a reduced £100 + vat admin fee

The initial 6 months payments is taken the week after you take delivery of the vehicle and once the finance company receive your signed copy of the contract you have a 14 day cooling off period before you are able to take delivery of the vehicle so I believe you receive the car 15-17 days after the contract being received - This was from All Car Leasing but believe that these timescales are pretty much the norm in the leasing industry

I was told the 1 series at least needed proof that you could claim business mileage, no matter how many times you might do this or not as the case me be!

Think this is the case with most personal leasing - I had to send a letter from my company stating if I use the car for company business I would be reimbursed x amount per mile

Some do some don't.

For mine I had to prove that I at least received a "car allowance" in the form of a payslip etc....

Those 4 series deals are great and having checked the base spec I think they have everything I could want (cruise, climate, xenons, nav, etc.).

I wish I could justify £300pm to myself for a car that will probably only do 6k per year. frown

It seems odd to me that they even care about this, or eligibility for business mileage payments from an employer...
