I was making the point that the admin fee had not been included in the figures tongue out

Should always quote the admin figure, as it varies from £0 if you go direct to a VW dealer and I've seen up to £500 quoted on some broker sites!

During the Golf R rush of 2014, the brokers were getting cheeky and trying to get away with randomly upping their fees.

I think if you are comparing deals it may be worth playing the brokers off against each other if you have a preference or their deal is slightly better.

I kid you not (emotions can never be accurately portrayed in a post) I've priced up a cheap car cover for the winter/colder months as well as asking for a price on the doors option.

I'll let you know what the dealer quotes tomorrow if they phone me.
Tempted to get one for sts and giggles at that price...

Any chance of any deals?!?!?!?!?

http://www.centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/vehicle/c...

£2k+VAT down
£119.99+VAT for 23 months
5k annum

Total £5711.72

Assuming its the standard 6p+VAT per mile, an additional 3k per year is £432. So a total on a 8k plan of £6143.32.
Just completed the application for this, hoping to confirm the order today. 8-10 week wait and excess mileage is 6p+ VAT. Looks like the ideal runaround.
Is it worth me taking out GAP insurance for this deal? Not sure I understand how it works on a lease like this?

Looks good on the 8k pa option

£881.94 +vat
£150 + vat
23 x £146.99 + vat

2 years of 8k pa, total £5295.

Looks a cracking deal

Yes as if it's written off you may still be liable for the remaining monthly rentals. Gap insurance would settle these for you.

Check the contract documents on what happens in result of a write off or total loss.

We did, something like £80. For peace of mine it was worth it.

The 8k deal was apparently a website error and it has now been removed.

I have seen a few errors on that website before.

I saw the 8k GTD deal as above and it seemed too cheap, so I asked the question 2 days ago if the numbers were correct, they didn't reply but as has been said it jumps from 5k to 10k now. No 8k options.

Personally this idea of putting 15 + 23 (or even higher initial) + admin fees is a joke.

I looked at the Tiguan deals and my local(ish) VW dealer was better than any of the leasing companies and they were looking at 6 + 23 with no admin fees. Trouble is I drove the car and wasn't impressed, it felt so flat and ordinary.

One question, my insurance when I asked them would I be covered ok for a lease said yes, and if the car is written off in the first 2 years it would be replaced so GAP not required.

Anybody else agree with this?

I thought this only applied in the first year for most insurance companies.

Speak to the lease company and confirm they'd be happy with that. ETA: My understanding is that the new-for-old is usually only the first year too, but I guess different insurers could have different terms.

Ahh well, one of the very few good things about getting older is insurance gets cheaper and options like SAGA are available (50+ years old for the younger folk) an they are 2 years rather than the usual 1 year.

Rather helpful girl said it was due to lower risk so SAGA do first 2 years? I don't want to start up the older driver debate just repeating what I was told.

Most of the lease companies offer their own GAP policies, but there was a recommended company that did very cost effective GAP and was highly rated, but I can't for the life of me remember the name! I think it was posted on the Golf R thread somewhere, but that's now at 20millionty pages.

If you are looking for a bargain lease then IMO you should be looking to make a saving everywhere, but I do wonder that if you took out the GAP with the lease company maybe it would make things slightly smoother if you did have to claim, but I really have no experience of it - maybe someone else has?

My wifes Fiesta ST-2 turns up on Tuesday so need to sort GAP out for that, i think gapinsurance123 and ala seem the best priced (the former seems a bit cheaper).

Will have the check the finance docs but you/we are liable for the full payment of the rental so make sure the GAP covers that, not sure about the car value itself...assume they just get the value of the car from the insurance and i have to pay them the remaining lease payments.
So as its sub £5k over the entire lease term should be covered by a £5k PCH lease.
