I saw some new deals on Minis on CVL but nothing much else, hopefully there will be some more after Easter.

Just had the one for CVL with 320d GT M Sport Auto with Business Media.

£2400 then x23 £239.99 (prices inc VAT)

Thought that was quite good?

Check the excess mileage. Nearly got a 3 Series from them a while back, ended up with a Golf instead because of something stupid like 23ppm.

Otherwise it's very good.

I'm after a value deal for a commuter car to do a 35 mile round trip. Last lease commuter was a Citroen C1 which was exceptionally cheap to run, but somewhat underpowered and noisy on the dual carriageway.

I like the look of the Fiesta Ecoboost 1.0 Zetec S as it has not far off double the power of the Citroen and it looks a much nicer place to sit in on the commute.

At £3,845 over two years (£1,200 deposit, £115 per month x 23) it seems a good deal for 8k miles per year.

Has anyone leased one of these before? Any alternatives I should consider around the same price?

I got a pretty good quote from Rivervale for a Fiesta ST. Thanks everyone who recommended various deals a few pages back.

Where are you all getting insurance from? Some insurers don't even seem to have an option to let them know that the car is leased, obviously if I say I own it that's insurance fraud to some degree. So are there any "lease friendly" insurers, for hot hatches?

I suspect insurance on the ST won't be that cheap for me - nearly 30, 8 or 9 years NCB and 1 50/50 fault claim in the last 4 years, which seems to push the price up exorbitantly despite being low value.

Re insurance.
Just fill out the details on something like GoCompare, you have the option to declare the owner as the Lease Co, also you have the option to not put a registration number. the quotes you then get will be happy to take your business, if you look at the ones that decline to quote there are plenty that cite not the owner...ihth.

Try a good broker rather than a web site?

Try Saffron. No idea if they have lease options but they have been v helpful for me - and seem to know the market quite well. (no connection with them other than satisfied repeat customer)

I'm currently with Hastings direct and they allow you to put the owner and registered keeper as a lease company.
Quoted me £400 for me and the wife both 30 and she has a 100% fault claim.

8 years ncb

Try these

Their offers tend to be based around 5000 miles per annum. But I know that the excess mileage is £0.07 per mile. An extra £420 in your case.

I am looking at replacing my 10 year old daily driver soon. The idea of leasing is tempting, but my annual milage is 15k so with most of the deals on here I would be paying a large excess. I would like a small diesel to minimise fuel bills, but as soon as I enter my milage on a lot of the lease websites the price shoots up.
Any suggestions?

Check the excess mileage rate on a few deals (this will involve a phone call) and see if the excess mileage is going to add up to more than the increase in rate if you schedule the mileage.
Eg 10p per mile for 5000 miles a year for 2 years is £1000
On a 3+23 £1000/26= £38.46 per month. Does the monthly go up by that from 10 to 15k?

No idea what these guys are like as a company, but they publish the excess on the website under each deal.

Thanks, but the prices for these are actually more than the G2L price I found, especially if I also have to put another £420 on top for excess mileage smile

I don't know Defenders but I find it incredibly odd for an off-road 4x4 to have 16" wheels when a little city car has 17".

As your not quoting amortised figures it gets a bit difficult to followyou both, but how does one of the big boys compare to the above. They seem reasonable to me and quoted at 8k miles pa and 3+23m I don't think there's a hidden handling fee to add either http://m.nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk/ford-fie...

And don't they have something like 18mm of tread depth on new rubber? Unlike cars with 8mm
