You couldn't pay me that much to drive a Kuga. It's also not a good deal.

I wasn't asking for an opinion on the car... is it not a good deal because of the car or not a good deal because you have seen better? Please elaborate.

I said ALSO, as in, it's crap ALSO a bad deal.

I pay less for my GTD with at least the same spec. The GTD is £4500 more list price too.

I'm trying not to bite here but seriously, you have a GTD and think that's so much better than a Kuga? They are both mass-produced cars with diesel engines... and I need something with more space in the boot than a Golf.

Also what's your deal on miles etc? Sort of need to clarify that before you just say your deal is much better - you could be on 5k p/a for all I know?!?

Did I say much better? I said at least the same spec, by looking on the site, mine matches the spec, but I'm sure they both have more that the quick list I saw.

Anyway, this is the deal thread, you asked if the deal was st, I think it is. I pay less for a car worth 20% more, and 20% more BHP.

If you want PH to tell you if a Kuga is better than a GTD, post a thread. You'll be disappointed.

You said you couldn't be paid to drive a Kuga, and then said you drive a GTD - that statement alone says you think yours is better does it not? I don't think a Kuga is amazing, it's a shopping trolley to get a job done - can't say I need more than 150bhp for family duties, but I do need a bigger boot.

Bit pointless comparing to a Golf GTD as firstly they aren't directly comparable cars (should be comparing it to a Tiguan if we're looking at VWs), and secondly I doubt the GTD is currently available at the same sort of level right now.

Just taken delivery of a Kuga in that spec within the last hour, looks nice so far!

Give it a rest buddy, the BMW 3 GT officially has more space than a Touring but is way less usable. I don't think numbers tell the story on hatch vs SUV do they. As I've said, you're looking down on a diesel Ford, when you drive a diesel Golf, and it's not even in the same sector.

But seriously, congrats on your GTD.

Ah good, someone gets it. What kind of deal did you get? Wasn't looking to derail the thread with a pissing contest, just wanted to get a sample of opinion on the deal I've been offered.

Leasing Options has Kuga Titanium at £205 3+23, not too bad a deal. Cheapest Tiguan on same terms is £343, Golf GTD £280 and Golf GT Tdi £240.

Mine is a company car so unfortunately I don't know what the actual deal was.

You said bigger, not more useable. Lay out your requirement and it might make more sense.

Even 2 of the top car magazines rate the Kuga 1 star (out of 5) less than the golf. Going to get arse-y with them?

Just had this quote for a Kuga - can I get an opinion on whether this is decent enough - it's 3-4 weeks delivery which appeals...

FORD KUGA DIESEL 2.0 (150BHP) - TITANIUM
MANUAL
PANTHER BLACK METALLIC PAINT
PART LEATHER - EBONY

6+23 MONTHLY RENTAL

£1267.56 UPFRONT
23 x 211.26 MONTHLY
£180 FEE
TOTAL COST - 6306.58 / 24 = £262 PER MONTH

EXCESS MILEAGE 5.28PPM

Does this sound half decent? It's a good engine and trim and the excess mileage seems pretty decent. Would just like a PH opinion on whether this is a good deal (wife loves the car so that's not an issue!)

Thanks!
The deal I was offered by Evans Halshaw Fords, was the following

TDCI 150 Titanium X
10k miles per year
3+23 (641.95 down and 23 x 213.98)
Excess Mileage 5.64p

The only issue was a 17 week wait, so i didn't go for it. I have gone for an Evoque deal now, same wait, but for something I would prefer to a Kuga and its a 4 year deal as 24 months comes round to quick to be messing about sorting out the family wheels. As you mention, its just to do a job, ferry the kids around etc.

Don't get me wrong if the Kuga could have been delivered sooner, I would have signed up before I even started to look at other models/deals. The Kuga is still a nice family car.

Tony
