That's expensive, if you wait for one of Merc's pretty frequent run of lease deals you should be able to get a much better deal.
Is it ? Can you find one cheaper (please ?) as I was searching and this was the cheapest I could find....
Not quite the same, but miles better value:

Mercedes E Class Estate E220 Bluetec AMG Line Night Edition

I haven't seen this question mentioned / answered so apologies if I've missed it. How do people deal with the uncertainty around delivery time / date when moving from one lease to the next? Is it possible to order well in advance, then ask the new lease company to hold on until your old lease ends? I couldn't manage without a car, so would need to know the new one was ready before the old one went back.

That's a cracking price. I'm not sure how they're doing it - but I'd be surprised if many better that. That 2.0 turbo engine is a cracker too.

Does anyone know much about business contract purchasing?

If so are you entitled to discounts like on a pcp?

The nationwide deal looks good value for the facelift 335d @ £279.95 on a 3+23 8k p.a

At those prices it's tough to see why anyone with the cash would buy outright.

(279.95 * 26 + 150) + VAT = 8914.44 /24 = 371.44 pm

What's the car worth bought as a cash deal? The best haggling in the world wouldn't get it for under 32k?

Wack the 32k in at 3% that'll bring in £80 pm

Overall cost for the 335d per month = £291.44 or 3.5k pa

I have always favoured cash, but with the logic above, it makes little sense not to lease.

Where are you netting 3% post tax on your cash these days?

I've just arranged this via G2L, with two separate finance companies involved. Turns out that you can extend the original lease on a pro - rata basis for up to 6 months so no problem at all.

£20k in a Santander current account for a start, especially if the first £1k of annual interest is tax free.

Probably not too hard to do on a stocks and shares ISA as long as the equity market hold up. Of course, that's by no means risk-free and the real benefit of buying cash is not that it's cheaper for the particular time/mileage term of the contract, but that you can keep the car for as many miles, and for as long, as you like - and only pay the actual depreciation.

Of course if you tend to trade in cars on a whim like me, the extra discipline that leasing imposes in that respect might lead to a further saving.

Is that 1/24th of the total lease cost on a two-year deal, or just the monthly payment (e.g., 1/32nd on a 9+23)?

Still worth doing either way I'd have thought but curious to know if that favours a bigger initial deposit.

In my case, it was just the usual monthly payment with mileage also pro-rata.

That was with Network aka Leaseplan.

I'd agree with that - I tend to buy older cars and then spend spend spend unnecessarily on them. Leasing a Golf GTD has meant none of that whatsoever, so a considerable hidden saving! I did think about treating the car to a boot liner for £60, and even thought better even of that!

I have just swapped this week...
first car was due back on the 10th - I said they could have it on the 6th (worked better for me)
new car was ordered in February with instructions that it was to be registered / delivered c. 10th of July date tbc - I then confirmed a month or so ago that I wanted it on the 6th...
told the company picking up to collect am and the company dropping off to deliver PM to avoid insurance overlap
Kuga went back and 45 minutes later Octavia arrived - smile worked well...

I gave plenty of warning on a car that didn't have delays - when I leased the Kuga it was because I had ordered an Evoque and they messed me around with the dates, so I simply cancelled the lease and leased a different car... my experience of that means I won't ever try to lease a car with order waiting times / delays / new car - not worth the hassle... ultimately a lease car is a simple way of having a reliable box to drive the precise box is less important to me - I have other cars for the fun bits!

As a matter of interest how did you (or anyone else) manage the servicing when handing the car back?
eg car needs yearly servicing and you are handing it back at 2yrs old...did you do the 2yr service or not?

I've an Octavia Scout through a dealership.

When enquiring about a service package, they advised me not to bother as the car is on a two-year servicing schedule (or 18k miles) and that I wouldn't be required to service it prior to handing it back.

I'm looking for a personal lease on a smart estate.

I've found this:-

BMW 3 Series Diesel Touring 335d xDrive M Sport 5dr Step Auto
£287.99 Per Month, INC VAT
9+23 8k Miles p/a
Initial Payment: £2,591.91
Additional Fees: £180 INC VAT

Seems pretty good to me, but wouldn't mind paying a bit less each month. Anyone know of any better deals out there at the mo?
