I really want to go ahead with the 10,000 miles £633 down and £211 over 24, that sounds perfect for us, its just the 12 week lead time that's putting me off.
Anyone know of any similar deals with stock cars?
I'd be wary of lead times IF you need it by X date.Anyone know of any similar deals with stock cars?
My Octavia I ordered early October with 10-12 weeks quoted and it cam in late March the following year. It was a new vehicle and I believe there were issues with the production line etc. You're basically in a queue until you get a build date then at least once that's confirmed you can start to get a more reliable time table.

What do people think about this one?
Skoda Superb New Model 2.0 TDI SE Business Edition 5Dr
24 months
£2400 initial
£240 admin fee
23 x £116.72
8k miles pa
Total £5,331 for 2 years in a very large car.
It's with Freedom Contracts http://www.freedomcontracts.com/Skoda-Superb-New-M...
I would be interested except that I've just gone for the Tiguan. (And it's a little too much car for me)
It's a great deal but i'd opt for the £593.94 up front and monthlies of £197.98. Works out £60ish more over the 2 years but less to worry about should anything go wrong and you lose the initial payment.Skoda Superb New Model 2.0 TDI SE Business Edition 5Dr

The picture is of the outgoing model but they do specify that it's the "new" Superb and the specs seem to confirm.
I think it's a great looking estate.
I have two cars already and want a lease car for my main car but do not know what car I really want so I will take until about November to decide,do a factory order ready for the new registratio in March.
Anyone know of any similar deals with stock cars?

I did, and one obliged.
I was wondering about this too. I tried very hard to get a VW dealer to match the deal for the Tiguan, so I could trade in my current car. However out of the 5 or so I tried over the phone, they either wouldn't match it, or just didn't respond. (Which I thought was very poor)
Is there a technique to get them interested? I presume there is commission in it for them - but maybe it's not enough on these low end deals?

I had no PX so maybe that helped. Admittedly they did not beat the online lease co. price by much, but they did beat it.However out of the 5 or so I tried over the phone, they either wouldn't match it, or just didn't respond. (Which I thought was very poor)

I put a request in via carwow website and waited to see who responded, only one dealer did. I explained I was ready to do a deal with the lease co. ASAP but said to the dealer I would like to give them the opportunity for the business too, he came back with a price about £15 per month more that the lease co. I told them the price I was quoted online and they came back and beat the price by a few quid.
I sold my old car via WBAC just before the PCP was finished, this paid the finance and gave me a few hundred back in my bank and this then put me in a great position to get a new deal.
Hope that helps

Yes does help slightly - if only to confirm that was almost the same approach I took. I'm amazed about their lack of follow up more than anything else. The first thing they wanted to know was when I could get down to the dealership. As soon as I mentioned leasing, and wanting to do a deal over the phone, the enthusiasm disappeared. I guess the brokers are more motivated to get a deal done, because that is their core business.I put a request in via carwow website and waited to see who responded, only one dealer did. That helps me decide leasing is maybe not my best option. At £300 per month I'd be looking at leasing for £200 and then saving an extra £100 on top for the next lease. £200 won't get me a "nice" lease car especially as it would be a personal one. I can get a lot of nice "older" metal with a standard loan. I'm not bothered about having brand new.
You could consider PCP maybe? I know it isn't guaranteed despite what the dealers promise, but if you can negotiate a good deal on a car that doesn't depreciate like a rock and the GFV is ok, you can come out with a deposit at the other end for your next car. Current projections on my next car should give my a 2k deposit for the next car. Obviously all subjective to many variables but possibly worth looking into.qboyd said:

The technique is easy go through all the discussions and pricing then right at the end just as your about to shake his hand glance out the window and say "you know what, it's time I chopped the old girl in as I'll not need two cars can run you please run these numbers with my old girl included thank you "However out of the 5 or so I tried over the phone, they either wouldn't match it, or just didn't respond. If he refuses get up walk out.

Give carwow.co.uk a try, in the notes section when you request the car your interested in, mention you would like some PCP & PCH quotes over X months etc, don't mention the PX just yet and see who bites.I have not dealt with a local dealer at all, I'm in Essex and new car is coming from Canterbury, last car came from Cambridge. Did not visit a single dealer, all done from the comfort of my sofa/iphone. I might push the boat out this time and pick up the new car from Canterbury and make a day of it down there.

"Pot of cash" - what would people do if they actually still had to, you know, buy a car?
I don't like to freeze cash in cars. I prefer to put it somewhere else. Guys, I may have one more lead on S8. One of the dealers I called on Sunday, called me back yesterday and said he wants to try and match the quote I gave him. He's suppose to call me back today, so if anyone is still interested in S8, send me PM and I will forward you contact to the dealer if he comes back with good quote.

My problem is actually slightly different. I haven't mentioned the PX yet, I just couldn't get the dealers to match, or even provide, a PCH quote. I presume that with the VWFS deals, the dealers must have access to the same deals, so can't understand why they don't match the broker price and just try to take the commission. They are much keener to try and sell me PCP instead, when I state I've got no interest. If he refuses get up walk out.

The £2400 down and £400 a month is a great deal (plus VAT) but it's a long way from the £1900 and £325 a month plus VAT that a poster said he had grabbed. I asked for proof as it sounded to good to be true, others have asked for details. So far none forthcoming. Even an offer on a website is far from conclusive as we know deals are posted that don't exist.
I'm a doubter, but I'll leave it there as I'll have to eat even more humble pie if/when the poster displays his agreement and I'm not keen on the taste so.........let's see the proof :-)

Yeah it's a good alternative. I know my sons mother does this and gets a new car every 2 years. The only issue she has is she uses a Seat dealer and is pretty much tied to getting Seats now. Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
