Been reading this with interest for a while and recently missed out on the Peugeot 208 GTI deals that were on here. With that said has anyone seen any good deals on a warm hatch? 208 GTI, Fiesta ST, Audi S1, Polo GTI or anything else?

IF anyone sees any good deals on another performance car. (under 6 seconds to 60) - I'd love to see it as in the market for another car now!!!

Just annoyed i lost my £2400 initial payment - I should have gone with the smaller payment and bigger monthly!!! frown
Wait .. no you may not have. How much have you rolled over and agreed with your insurer and the lessor?
Youre supposed to be back in the position you were. Get your insurer to agree to payout the lessor on the basis you get another car on your drive to continue the term payments.
Did you have new for old cover , not that it matters much.

I am sure I won't have this totally accurate, but I recall reading something the other day that within your first year, you are totally covered for any loss and then really the GAP kicks in the second year. I'm sure I haven't got that right but I can't find the article with the specifics. Sorry to hear the news- shame my good friend Mr 9-Iron wasn't there to help dissuade the b@stards from taking it.

Ours has done 32.9mpg over the 18k miles we've done since new. Tyres all have 4mm+ left. Brakes not due to be replaced until at least 40k miles.

Insurance was 210

Zero costs apart from the monthlies so far.

First service due just before it goes back, but only an oil change

That's a bit more like it then. To be honest I cruise around most of the time anyway. Be tremendous fun when your right foot gets heavy biggrin

I asked for a quote on the 5 door (kiddies to think about), 12,000 miles and it's coming out a little under £315 with vat on a 6 in advance. Just the wife to convince!!!

As long as you don't have tear facing child seats in the back and aren't 6ft 5 + you'll be fine. Nice motor but i'd go for the auto and adaptive dampers next time

It's become quite apparent to me that "In Stock" means fk all. I've rang numerous brokers about cars that they are advertising as "in stock" only to be told, "Ah no they've all gone".

This is a good deal from Skoda for a top spec Yeti:

That is good. I like the Yeti, but I'd be inclined to get a non-diesel one and my Mrs likes the bloody quashcow better. An L&K Yeti with 1.2TSI and DSG would be great though! But I bet theres more chance of hens teeth than getting one of those on a decent lease. Guess thats the thing with leasing etc, the popular mainstream stuff is priced the best because thats what everyone wants and thats what keeps the residuals up and lease costs down.

Accurate with new-for-old policies that cover cars where the insured has a proprietary interest, but in this case the £2,400 was an initial rental and not an item of property in which he had an interest. (If there is an exclusion for 'pure economic loss' then I guess this would be covered, but more than likely it's just not within the policy's scope to indemnify it).

Trigger pulled on my BMW 520d deal, very happy with 3x23 £255.29 ex VAT. Expecting delivery in 5 weeks max, possibly less. Seamless deal direct with the dealer, excellent service, got exactly what I wanted.

What's the excess mileage? It does look like a very good price.

Any chance of the details? Been looking for a deal on a 320d but this looks tempting

Excess is a touch high at 15.5p ex vat. I got it from one of the two BMW dealers advertising on CH&L.com, both of whom contacted me when I enquired, and both of whom I would recommend. Mileage on my deal is 8k/miles per year.

As car fanatics doesn't the uncertainty of what car you will next be driving when it comes to the end of your current lease concern you? As a lease'r its clear you can't be picky and could end up driving something that doesn't really float your boat but you have little choice as it was the only deal/car available at the time.

That point does put me off the idea of leasing a little, spend the cash/finance on a car you will enjoy, keep it for as long as you like until your ready to move on - surely a value should be put on this?

Sometimes you'll end up in a car that wouldn't be your first choice but you end up really enjoying it as a daily drive. Living with a car is so different from a 1 hour test drive!

If that happened I'd just buy whatever car I would have bought this time around to replace what I lease.

Definitely, there is a value to be had in having no monthly payments, the ability to sell at any time, and to be able to keep the car for as long as I want.

However, if I can save enough money and/or drive something that is so much nicer that I value the niceness or saving more than I value the ownership, I should still be leasing.

The best possible car is something cheap to buy, fun to drive, economical, good looking, and reliable. I've managed all of those at different times but never simultaneously. Whatever you get is a trade-off and if the lease deal is affordable and offers the best overall value for your personal tastes, why not go for it?

For a low to average mileage driver who wants a pain-free ownership experience, it's got to be better to spend £8k leasing a new Golf R for two years than losing £8k in depreciation on a three-year-old GTi from a main dealer. There might be cheaper ways again to own an equivalent car, or to get something that's not as good, but in terms of a painless ownership experience for the same car, leasing seems like a clear winner to me in that scenario. £8k for three years in a Hyundai i30 that I can get at six months old for £10k? I wouldn't dream of it!
