Still debating on the M135i. Wife isn't convinced, went to look at one at the weekend and it's gooorgeous, but tight with the rear facing car seat we've got, which won't be dispensed with any time soon....

Quite a bit more expensive (comparatively anyway), but a lot more space. Some Touring's coming too but they hadn't loaded them yet (that's perhaps TOO practical for my liking!!)

I've been looking at the same M135 deal myself. Little one on the way but we have the Volvo for family stuff. I just need something to get me to work and back and pick up/drop my son in. We've got another 3 months before we move into our new house so I don't want to pull the trigger on any new debt until we have the mortgage in place and have moved in. No doubt this deal will be long gone by then.

The 3 series looks great value for the amount of car you get although more than I want to spend on a lease.

Don't blame you mate, houses have a funny way of popping up surprise bills when you move in!
The 3 Series does tick more boxes to be honest. The 340i would be perfect, but the lower engines are quite a bit cheaper so it's looking that way I think.

Follow this thread with interest... am baffled by the mileage limits on the deals posted though. Unless your daily drive is to the railway station, I struggle to see how 5-8000 mile allowances deliver any kind of meaningful usability.

I work in the next town, 25 miles each way. 46 weeks of that is 11,500 miles already. Two or three holidays each year, and a bit of pootling about, easily knocks that up to 15,000 mpa.

For me, this makes the headline figures little more than clickbait.

Also makes me wonder, if you are genuinely doing such low annual mileages, as to whether such an investment over two or three years is actually very good value for money. Pence per mile on some deals is horrific when you spread some quite stern deposits into the mix.

I'm not taking sides in the for and against arguments - some of the deals have certainly been very enticing - just thinking out loud really

I take your point and in my current situation I am the same, however in my previous job I commuted by train (and walked to the station) so the car would only be used for weekends and family trips away.

Likewise my wife will probably only do 5000 miles this year (20 mile commute, 3 days a week, 35 weeks a year as a teacher) so between us we could in theory be doing low mileage relatively, however for at least one of us we would like to have something shiny, reliable and decent for the time when we do use a car. For these reasons low miles aren't a big problem and the excess miles are ok.

They're not limits though. You can ask for more mileage allowance if they only list 5000 or 8000. I imagine 10000 or 15000 wouldn't be much more.

They're contractual limits against the price shown. I'm well aware you can change the deal for higher limits, but you imagine wrong. Change a 5,000 to 15,000 and see how the price moves.

I have a 10k allowance. 10 mile each way commute and use the car weekends and evenings for general getting around.
I am about to go through my annual allowance after 11 months.
Pence per mile on my deal is 24p so it probably will cost me another £200 this year.
I did get one of the cheap leaseplan deals last year though. So overall worth it.

Is that unusually high? I've been mulling over leasing a Tiguan for Mrs S and generally the deals are 6p + VAT so 7.2p per mile. It's actually marginally cheaper to go for a 5K deal and pay an extra 3K per year than go for an 8K mile deal.

It was a big pence per mile charge, but the monthly rentals were pretty good.
On balance for me it worked.
10k a year pretty much covers my mileage.
With effort I could probably stay within it.

I called lease plan last month more miles and it wasn't too bad. You can increase your mileage anytime up until the last 6 months.
