^^ That was always my understanding, however I recently asked for a quote including metallic paint on a VW Golf GTD Estate from CVL and they quoted an additional £690 over the term. The metallic option when purchasing is £540.
That's 27% not 2xVat (40%).

Didn't you question m/challenge this- and then raise it to HMRC who would certainly like to know why someone is charging different VAT rates to the Govt statute. You could screw them quite hard or they will simply cave and give you it for less over taking more margin.
I questioned it, they elected not to answer. I decided CVL probably aren't the company for me.
The reason the total cost of the deal is more than the cost of the option is because they split the cost over the number of months, but, the deposit is 3,6,9x the monthly payment so you pay more.

eg £360 option on a 9+35 deal means they you pay an extra £80 (£10 x 8 months).

I've sent a couple of messages and left two voicemails. Nothing back yet.
I heard back this morning. Waiting on confirmation from VW if they will allocate any more R's. Indicated prices will rise a little approx £10-15.

Earlier in the year there were a few Skoda Yeti deals on this thread. Well today the Wife's new Yeti was delivered.

It's the 4x4 150bhp model with DSG and in the top L&K spec. £28k according to the website, and all for £220/month (inc VAT) on a 3+23.

Wife is happy, so cheers to whoever posted the deal in the first place beer

Sorry if someone has already posted. Deal also on HUKD.

https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing...

1.6 CRDi Blue Drive SE 5dr

£460.47 down then £153.49 a month inc VAT.

Not bad for someone wanting some reliable fixed(ish) cost motoring. Not driven one of these but had a larger Hyundai hire car and wasn't any worse than similar offering from Ford, Vauxhall etc.

£422 per month inc VAT and deposit sounds like a good buy... You could try ringing around other dealers to see if they could offer something more competitive?

Likewise. But didn't sound too hopeful...

Skoda Octavia VRS Estate - 8000 miles per year, for 24 months with a deposit of £1,310.34 and 23 monthly payments of £218.3.

http://www.freedomcontracts.com/Skoda-Octavia-Esta...

Seems like a decent deal. Would anyone warn against/recommend something else?

Looking for a not-too-slow, not-too-ugly estate.

We've got a hatch. Great car for the money (annoyingly no cruise in ours). We pay 229 INCLUDING VAT on 3+23. That was 18 months ago though.

Hi there - forgot to say - that deal includes VAT. I'm not up on how to post these deals.

In the accepted parlance I guess it would be:-

£218.30 (inc VAT) 6+23 for the Estate.

Have noticed Simpsons are offering a deal on the TSI (petrol) Octavia VRS hatch too - http://www.simpsonsskoda.co.uk/new-car-offers/220v... - £1990 then 23x £225pm.

http://www.simpsonsskoda.co.uk/new-car-offers/220v...

I'm guessing it's a Skoda-backed thing so hopefully it'll make it to the other brokers soon, I'd happily pay a small premium to not be in a diesel!
