Thanks, I'm definitely happy with it so far.

The furthest I've been in it is 30km on a-roads... I had to follow a friend who was dropping off his c43 at a garage so I could bring him home. Across town I had no problems keeping up with him as it was pretty much the traffic flow that was the limiting factor there, not how fast your car can in theory go.

I've been to the supermarket a couple of times... going on your own its no problems at all as theres plenty storage space on the passenger seat/football. Likewise taking the dogs to the beach.

I don't really like the way the gear box will change down but not up automatically... I'd have preferred it to do both. But its hardly a big deal. I can even cut 5 mins off my journey home by driving the wrong way up a one way street for 30 metres if I can see its clear - can't do that in the other cars as they are too big to turn them around laugh

For the type of use I need it for, I've definitely made the right decision. So thanks for the replies everyone.

The three we've had all change up and down automatically, if that is what you ask it to do, so I'm confused by that statement.
I've not seen the manual yet so maybe mines can be changed also...

Mines doesn't have a button to change the automatic mode? It changes down gears itself, but not up.

Cool car so far, perfect for the job:

And until someone experiences the ease of parking anywhere they can't truly comprehend how massive other cars are!
Absolutely spot on with this point cool

Unbelievable how easy it is to use around town in comparison to the Lambo or the Porsche. I'm so happy with the purchase that I'm wondering if I should have spent more money and got a newer/better one! I think that one cost me 3500 euros

Shoite. Bad luck.

I'm guessing your car would have been a pre 2007 450 version and not a Brabus. The engines in the 450 are usually due a rebuild around 45 to 50 thousand miles. It's not a very strong engine. The 450 Brabus however is a very strong engine.

All my research suggested I should buy a 451 which has the Mitsubishi 999cc engine and doesn't suffer from the same issues as the old Smart lump.
It was a 2003 one. Will see on Monday, no idea if the garage is just trying it on. I have a decent garage that work on my other cars and never rip me off, so I'll get it to there if I can. She's saying it won't go over 40kmh just now though...

Spacious?

As far as a 2 seater, easy to park car goes - they are pretty spacious. I'm 6 foot tall and have no issues at all with it. It feels as roomy inside as the gallardo or the SLK.
